We leave in two days and I am still not sure what to take as far as strollers.

I have a two and half year old and a 3 month old. My two year old doesnt mind the stroller just not all the time.

Do I take my massive Graco duoglider for my kids or do I take my Zooper Waltz and Maclaren Triumph for them separately? My husband, mother and I are traveling. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Well.. not sure how much help I will be since I haven't experienced this first hand. BUT - next year we'll have a 2.5 year old and a 15 month old. We also have the DuoGlider and I honestly don't feel like lugging it thru the airport(Which it has to be put on the belt to be scanned - fun times!) We bought 2 Mac triumphs and are going to go with that. I did buy the stroller connectors from Babies R Us in case I need to do it alone. My son also doesn't mind the stroller, but I don't expect him to be in it too much longer either. So we decided on 2 single Macs instead of a buying a Maclaren double.

I've also read here it maybe easier with lighter strollers on the trains apposed to the big ones.

Good luck and Have a magical time !!

All of my children have been to WDW around that age, and I found that they sat in the stroller much more than I ever would have expected. With that said, I would say prepare for your 2.5 yo to use your stroller. If it was me, I wouldn't want to bring a heavy stroller with me onto the airplane (even if its checked at the gate) or onto the buses. The only time I would consider the double stroller is if you didn't have anyone to push the 2 single strollers. Also, maybe you should consider if your group will be splitting up. With 2 strollers, someone can take the baby back to the hotel while the older child gets to stay at the park AND be in a stroller.

Have a great time!

I have the Graco duoglider also, and we take it when we'll be at the parks late so DS5 can rest if he wants to. I'm not taking it in on our next trip, because it's so big, and we usually just end up walking in from the parking lot with it because it's so hard to get the kids out of it and unload it just to get on the tram. If you'll be riding on the Disney busses you'll have the same issues. I just bought a chicco for DS2 and I think we'll just take that this time-we'll only have one or two late nights, and we can always rent a stroller for DS5 if we need to. So, long story short, two lightweight strollers would probably be better than one huge one in my opinion.

I vote for two over one as well. That's what we are planning to do January!

I much prefer a double to 2 singles. Esp. with kids that are close in age. If you have kids that have a huge age gap, 2 strollers allows you to split up, but with kids close in age, that is not likely to happen. I don't like the thought of having 2 strollers. It's just easier for me to keep them both together.

However, the duoglider is a beast. We have one and I love it. But, it is big and taking it on a plane is a huge pain. When we went to Disney, I bought our Maclaren side by side. With your kids age, though, I might just take the duoglider, though. It would be more comfy for your baby than my mac. I think I might just bite the bullet and take the duoglider. Or I might just take one single and a sling for the baby. But, it's hot right now so I would want a spot for the baby and toddler.

We took our two sons in April and Aug. In April our youngest was 2 and half months and our oldest was almost 3. We used 2 strollers for that trip because I felt that if the baby was fussing or needed to be fed then Dh and DS could go and do what they wanted to do. Plus I wanted each child to be comfortable for naps. In AUg we did the 2 strollers again. The only downside then was that the baby didn't want to be in stroller at 9:30 when the park was closing and he was screaming because he was tired so I had to push the stolller thru crowds and hold a screaming baby. It was at that moment that I said we are getting a double stoller for our next trip. We will use a double for our Dec trip since we will be using the buses to get to Epcot and MGM. We figure 2 strollers and 2 kids on a bus is just too hard to do.

I vote for the DuoGlider. We've got one and we've travelled with it before, but not yet to the World. Yes, it is an SUV, but I find that I've got my moves down as far as closing it up and hurling it into the back of the minivan at home (or while on vacation in the past, onto the airport security belt, into the Rent-a-car bus at the Vegas airport, or into the back of a taxi in Rome). So I don't think we'll have THAT much trouble on the Disney buses when we go to WDW in early February. Then again, I ride the NYC subway to get to work, so perhaps I have a high tolerance for pain;) ?

Also, once you arrive, isn't it better to have just one person pushing? I relish the (rare) occasions when DW takes the wheel once in a blue.

With a baby that young, go with two separate strollers. In the double, if the baby is trying to nap and the older one decides to have an all out kicking and screaming tantrum, you'll want him to be FAR away from the baby!

I have toddlers that are 20 months apart. When the baby was little, and we would go to DL for the day, we did the double stroller thing. After a few visits, we ditched the double and got another umbrella stroller. We've been taking them in two separate strollers since. They like to have their own space (they're 2 boys and they FIGHT when they are too close to each other) and it's easier when one is napping and the other is NOT, to keep the sleeping one sleeping. :)
