Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows if I will be able to gate check a double stroller with Northwest? We will be travelling with a 5 month old and a 3 year old and I have a bit of a layover (which is why I would like to avoid checking the stroller as luggage).

On the Northwest Website they mention being able to gate check a small umbrella stroller but that's it.

Any info or advice would be appreciated.

Sorry for being a weirdo...

I thought I'd bump my own question to get it back into circulation!!! :rolleyes1

I am not sure about Northwest but any flight I flew on let me gate check my double stroller. HTH

you are not being a weirdo!

i am not sure about northwest but i have never had any problems with doubles. i did with my double jogger. but not a regular double stroller.

good luck and have fun! :cool1:

I've gate checked a double stroller many times. You can always call the airlines to check and see if it's going to be an issue. They may mean the small umbrella will fit in the overhead as a carryon.

I've never seen a problem with double strollers or triples (imagine the backlash with people travleing with triplets!!! How else are you going to get them thru the airport? Call and double check, but it should be fine.

Thanks for replying! I appreciate all of your feedback. I was starting to second guess myself with all of the stroller threads on the board!!

I bought a double stroller because I thought it would make my life a little easier for our trip. I didn't want to rent one because the baby wouldn't be able to sit comfortably. Also it was cheaper to buy one then rent one for 2 weeks!!

Thanks again!

I have never flown Northwest, but have gate checked a HUGE BULKY sit and stand with double seats with Southwest. BUT, I would be interested to know if anyone has had a problem, as we will be trying Jet Blue for the first time, probably with a double stroller.
