Double stroller as wheelchair?

I haven't really paid attention to the strollers at Disney in a long time, but the ones they used to have didn't work for kids who didn't sit up yet. Her little one will be about 4 months on the trip. Is that old enough for the Disney stroller?

She has a carrier, and will definitely use it for both kids on the trip, but she find switching out the kids in a single stroller really challenging. If, for example, she's holding the baby and wants to pick up the toddler and put the baby in the stroller, or vice versa, she says it gets challenging. Her daughter isn't very good at "just stand here while I get your brother situated . . . " yet. But she could definitely strap the baby on, and then pick up the toddler to board a ride.

I think the PP was referring to an offsite rental company, they rent nice strollers you can rent for your length of stay, most drop off and pick up from your resort. We used a baby's best friend but the families board would be a good source for more recommendations. I would not use a park rental for a baby and definitely not in lines.

My 2 cents - a sling or wrap or snugli was a lifesaver with a baby at the parks and even without having to use the stroller as a wheelchair I could never have managed with my front/back double at the parks. I wore my baby on almost all the rides she could ride and this left me hands free to deal with my almost 2yo at the time.

My recommendation is that she borrow or rent a nice light side by side double stroller the kids will be comfortable - it will be so much easier for her. It will fit and maneuver much better through the parks not to mention when she uses it in line.

We have a double BOB jogger and have been using it this week as a wheelchair. It has been working fine for us and we have fit everywhere.

Thanks! I realized after I posted this that of course she's going to want a stroller to get to and from her car, on the monorail etc . . . so whether or not the park strollers would fit the baby is kind of irrelevant.

She's going to look into stroller options.

We have used both front to back and side-by-side strollers as a wheelchair. For the first few years we used front to back, and last few years we have been using MacLaren double stroller (side-by-side). Both worked great for us in lines, we never had problems manuvering the longer stroller. I would just use what you have and worry much about it.

stroller as wheelchair would be moved to area that hold wheelchairs usually near ride exit. others will be going by it and no one cast member is watching as such. could be bumped by others getting their chair out of area as it can get crowded.

I wouldn't recommend she leave any expensive medical equipment in a stroller, the CMs are busy directing loading and unloading and won't be able to keep an eye on it and anyone could walk off with it. I would never leave anything of value unless it was locked on to the stroller. I have used a bike lock chain to lock packages to my ECV basket, but it wasn't something expensive or that couldn't be easily replaced.
