Double reservations

I think I read that Disney will cancel your reservations if they see you have 2 booked on the same night... is this true and has it happened to anyone?

I was cancelling a reservation because my plans had changed, and asked the dining CM about Disney cancelling a reservation if a guest makes duplicate reservations (2 for the same time). She said they do not do this--that they only cancel if the guest requests. As we've seen on this board, you get lots of conflicting answers from CMs, so I'm sure someone else has gotten a completely different response.

I also got two conflicting answers. The first time I called and asked a CM she told me that you couldn't make two dinner adr's because the computer would recognize it and cancel each other out. I just called before because now a friend of mine wants to meet us at O'hana for dinner - I wanted to add her family of 4 onto my adr. I wanted to know what would happen if my friend doesn't show up (she has a habit of doing that) because I don't want to miss out on my adr. The CM told me that she would make a new adr in my friends name, keep my old adr, but I would have to cancel one soon because the computer MAY cancel both of them out.

Has anyone had an adr for say, 8 people, then show up w/only 4? What has happened in that situaiton?

I have no idea if it is true but I hope that it is. It seems unfair to me to make multiple reservations for the same meal.

I was trying for Bkfst at CRT on our first day .. didn't get an ideal time but took it anyway. While still on the phone I asked the CM if I could go ahead and make a ressie for Donald's same date / earlier time as a back-up. He said definitely .. no reason not to .. so I did just that. Guess I'll find out at the end of this week when all my ADR's are made and I go back through to cancel what didn't fit into the itinerary just right.
