I agree that it's a great username (Welcomd Janet)....although my hubby is going to be jealous because he thinks that HE is Tigger's Sidekick....he even selected Roo as his favorite Disney character (and his screenname is jasonroo although he never posts) since Roo is Tigger's sidekick in all the films and cartoons. You should see our basement/office-----it's a Tigger and Roo paradise! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I absolutely thought of Jason right away:rotfl:

And Brandie--did Jeremy make it thorugh Monday in one piece?!

And Brandie--did Jeremy make it thorugh Monday in one piece?!

:rotfl: It was a very close thing. *eyeroll* Fiona finally crashed for her nap, but she had to have Daddy to crash ON to nap. So I went in the basement after my conference calls and he had all the lights off. The two of them were curled up in the huge sofa bag--he had his earbud on and the laptop by his right hand. She completely incapacitated his left side by laying on it. :rotfl: He looked pretty miserable!

I swapped out with him so he could go lead his interview, and then left her alone in the sofa bag when I had to take the dog to the vet at 4 pm. Of course, she woke up immediately after I pulled out of the garage, all bright-eyed and squirrel-tailed and ready to go again! :thumbsup2 Thankfully, before I jumped on my conference calls I had printed out a ton of coloring pages for her to attack with washable markers.

We ate out that night... :rotfl:

And all this for a guy who, before we had kids, wanted to be the one to work from home!!! He laughs hysterically at himself now. :rotfl: So naive! He thought he'd be able to cruise through the day with no preparation or thinking ahead... As in, kid would tell him she was hungry with plenty of time to prepare food (cupboards were empty, too, on Monday), she'd be content to watch movies and Dora all day, etc, etc... He could leisurely answer email and talk on the phone...

Yeah, well, that didn't work out too well for him. ;) I think next time he'll take PTO like I asked him to.

Brandie

And before you go, oh poor thing... The deal in the house is he has to take PTO before he can buy an XBox 360. The man has squirreled away over 2 weeks of PTO (even counting on the vacation planned for this year AND next year) and has stuck me with watching kiddo ALL THE TIME while I'm working from home because he "couldn't take off."

No compassion for the man. AT ALL. :rotfl: Payback was a witch on Monday!

Oh, and remember he worked all day Saturday, too! :headache: He put in a 12.5 hour day because he didn't want the guy who had work on Saturday to be stuck doing the server move alone.

*pblllttttt* *stomping my foot* *pulling my hair* :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

Brandie too funny! The first time Dave was home ALL day with the two kids (they were probably 1 and 3) I got home around 4:00 and they were just CRAZY and Dave was so worn down. He couldn't understand why they were so much more whiny, etc. than normal that afternoon. So I asked, what did you have for lunch and when did they have a snack? Dave turns white. He totally forgot to feed them! He often works right through lunch and so he didn't feel hungry and he was so busy handling the immediate issues as they came up that he never stepped back and figured out the root cause was hunger (hadn't yet figured out the kids don't always know themselves what the problem is to actaully say "I'm hungry" or the like). We headed straight to Fazolis (2 blocks away) to get food in them FAST. They magically returned to their normal temperments when fed:lmao: Needless to say he has never made that mistake again.

Yup, DH started down that path and I stopped him REAL QUICK. I had calls starting at 11, so at 10:30 I told him to start getting Fiona in real clothes so he could go get lunch. He wanted to protest, but grudgingly went along with wrestling her nightgown away to replace it with a real shirt for the pants she already had on... And about 10:55, when she was finally dressed, I shoved him out the door with lunch orders for her and I, and made him take her with him.

Bear in mind this man almost NEVER skips lunch for himself at 11 am. So I wasn't buying the "not hungry yet" baloney!

On a good note, he came back with yummy Qdoba! :goodvibes

I just had to share how the morning went with you all fellow Disney fans. Marika and Rio are participating in an economics course called Exchange City this year. We will cover a variety topics (as specified by the course) over several weeks and it will culminate in spending two days in a mock city with everyone having jobs, bank accounts, etc.

So today we were discussing supply and demand and also Marketing Campaigns. We were not even 5 minutes into Supply and Demand stuff when the kids started talking about how sometimes you can't change the supply, like on the Disney ships (yes we did get into the long term ability to change this with new ships). They were all excited to go online and show me how the demand influnces the price (calling up prices for cruises Christmas week versus mid January, etc.).

We got just as Disney crazy with marketing. We were discussing unified campaigns and jingles and slogans and all of a sudden they were noticing that Kraft has been "it's the cheesiest," and Stapples has been "that was easy," etc. for a long time but Disney has been "Where Dreams Come True" and the "Happiest Place on Earth" (and more, but those were the two they remembered very clearly). So we ended up exploring Disney's yearly marketing campaigns and looking and how MANY ways they promote their product in a unified way in a given year, how they keep fresh to get people back yearly and convey that they are doing so, etc.

You know I really think they GOT the concepts better than most kids their age AND we got to spend a big chunk of our day doing Disney stuff:rotfl:

I just went back and saw this post. It went up while I was typing about my satrving kids:lmao: I was thinking "oh poor thing" for Fiona trying to teach her parental unit a thign or two (not overly poor, if Fiona has her Daddy totally charmed like most of them do), but NOT about your DH:rotfl2: He osudns like a good Daddy though;)

:goodvibes He is a great Daddy and hubby.

For a little example of how thoughtful he is... With all his food allergies, we go through 2 drive-thrus when we get fast food... One for him, and one for babygirl and I. No complaints, no problems! :thumbsup2

He does a TON of things just for his girls (meaning Fiona, myself, and the doggie)... He's just -clueless- at times. :rotfl: I've told you about him sticking a straw in babygirl's milk for her and then instinctually taking a drink, right? :rotfl2: Hey, it was in his hand, he was distracted, he took a drink... of her drink! Thankfully, no ambulance was needed, but I've ordered Fiona water or juice since those grey hairs! :rotfl:

He is the bomb, though. Even when he has me aggravated, all I want to do is chase him around the house with just a squirt gun full of ice water... not a cast iron frying pan!

And he has a gorgeous smile... :goodvibes

Erik--OMG are the shuffleboard rules REALLY posted right there?!?! We never noticed and just make up our own rules as well:rotfl2:
Yes Hadley and Erik, the rules ARE posted RIGHT there on the walls, hehe!! :rotfl:

cruise). Jason and I are also very into party boardgames----like Pictionary, Taboo, Scattegories, and anything by Cranium. Of course we also love High School Musical Scene It (the DVD game)----which my cheerleaders bought me for my birthday! :rotfl:

Okay, well, I may have been the one to get the HSM Pop Up Centerpiece for my birthday, but I did NOT get HSM Scene It! I'm jealous! Also, have you played Pop5 by Cranium? We LOVE that one a LOT! They need a refill box for that and Whonu, but I don't think they'll be putting them out.

Brandie and Erik--we all have to move into the same town because you just listed all my favourite board games (except Outburst, I like that a lot also). We have such a hard time finding other people who like to play games also :sad2: (fun games, not Clue and Monopoloy!--sorry all of you who love those).

Okay, so before hte Transatlantic repo crusie we spent lots of time planning to while away the sea days playing Euchre, Canasta, etc wit hvarious people from the meet thread. Well, EVEN on the repo with 6 straight sea days, we were so busy doign DCL activities (including games--LOVE Scattegories and Pictionary on the ship) that we only managed to play mayeb an hour of cards (with Erik and Jsaon). So, I will likely throe in a deck of cards whe nI pack just in case, but I doubt they will get used and I am now refusing to commit to any scheduled games (what if it conflicts with a tour I want to take, or Pictioanry run by the cruise staff, or Family Magic Quest, or well you get the picture!). But we do also enjoy SKipbo and uno when we want a quick game.

NEW PEOPLE!!! Welcome!! Are there any staterooms left empty on the ship???

Then you all need to move here because we have a game night AT LEAST once every month, with all the popular board games you are all mentioning. (Although Hadley, last month when we played Outburst 2, even THAT version is like, 12 years outdated, but we still played it) Cocktails and friends and games, our favorite way to spend the weekend nights.

Very cool! I have an SD card that allows me to use songs as my ringtone. Do you know where I can find the sound bite for the horn? I have a Mororola Razor too. (No iPhone for me - too confusing!) :lmao:

Looks like you already found the link, let me just warn you--at least on MY RAZR, it was LOUD! I loved it, but as you're standing in line at Target or wherever, and your phone rings, and it's the ship horn, EVERYONE will hear it and look at you! :rotfl:

We headed straight to Fazolis (2 blocks away) to get food in them FAST. They magically returned to their normal temperments when fed:lmao: Needless to say he has never made that mistake again.

Rob just said, "Oh, I LOVE Fazolis, we shoud go there for lunch today!"

Welcome all new cruisers as well! Have a good week everyone.

Phase 10???? We don't haev that game. What's it like?

Brandie--Jeremy sounds wonderful:love: But I am not jealous becuase so is Dave!

Chris--Nice to see a post from out your way. We love Whonu (especially good when we don't have tons of time AND the kids really like it). We haven't played POP 5 yet but I bought it 90% off at Target a mont hagao and put it away for Dave for Christmas so I am happy to hear it is up to Cranium standards. And speaking of HSM birthdays; Rio got the Ulimate HSM party pack in the mail form Birthday Express last week. WOW lots of stuff there. It will be a fullblown HSM party! If any of the guests ask for hints (they usaully do) the HSM SceneIt game is high on the list:rotfl: Also, yes I am pathetic--I never notived the shuffleboard rules:rolleyes1 And finally, tell Rob to have an extra breadstick for me; there are no Fazoli's out east:confused:

Just dropping in to say Hello. Hope veryone is doing well. I will see if I can get Janet to post more often. It took a year to get her to pick a user name. I guess I am making progress. Got to go write the Square Dance Club new letter. Check in later. Lois
