As for the Cajuns of the group (I still can't believe we are the only ones). We have tax free weekend this weekend so we are shopping for furniture (and hey if I see stuff for the trip you better BELIEVE I'm getting it). Its going to be a crazy weekend and honestly I would much rather be sewing our costumes but since we keep saying we need new living room furniture, well this is the time of year to get it.

We have a tax free weekend here too, but what is tax free is limited to items for school. ex. clothing, school supplies, etc. I've already done all that type of shopping and think I'll just go to the empty pool because everyone else will be shopping.

So I got my mail this morning (cuz I forgot yesterday) and in it I see this package from NC... hmm who do I know from there.. I have clue. So im trying to rack my brain cuz Im afraid to open it not knowing who its from... I finally give up LOL (it was short lived anyhow LOL) and in it I find the most gorgous Fish Extender. She described what she was planning on doing as she had the cutiest idea and it turned out so awesome. Better then I imagined and ive seen her work so I know its great to begin with. I litterally teared up. Thank you just doesnt seem enough! The boys are going to love it when I show them. Cuz they know if it was up to me there would be a Target or Walmart bag up on the F/E LMAO. SO again THANK YOU SO MUCH! :lovestruc I owe you a drink on board! :cloud9:

oh and I dont think im going to post pics lol going to hold out till the cruise so you can all see it live and in person LOL

I'm glad you like it! Boy that sure flew across the country fast!

Ok ..... I'm coming in really late. We didn't *book* our cruise until June 18th (yeah, spur of the moment ...). Can I still join in the chatter??????? Please????

We're cruise newbies. My mom is taking our whole family (me, dh, 3 kids - 17,12, 3, my niece, her dh, their baby - 9 months) on this one. We're soooooooo very excited. :cool1:

:welcome: This is a great group of DISers! :disrocks:

Welcome to our chat group. :)

Just a hint of caution, do not drink anything while reading these posts, some have almost spit their drink out from laughing so hard.

I've done this and coffee/Latte' is hard to get off the laptop keyboard! :lmao:

Tiffany

I take the kids to Storyland for the day and have pages to cathc up on :rotfl2: Nothing's new;)

Welcome Ntheory:goodvibes We are one of those homeschooling families. We started school part time this week (took today off for Storyland) and have no intention of bringing school work along for our week at WDW or our week on the cruise NEXT MONTH (ooooo I am lovin' that).

Drea--I can't wait to see the FE (:worship: Tiffany you rock!)

rkandmjsmommy--I love your littel description of us--but you forgot that Erik is our bratty fairy:lmao: (I so wish the tag fairy read meet threads JUST because Erik needs that as a tag so badly:rotfl2: )

Here is my brag--we don't get tax free weekends because (drum roll please) there is no sales tax in New Hampshir EVER (also why I can live in a littel bitty town but have an outlet mall at the highway--people like to drive up from Mass. and shop without those pesky taxes). Happy shopping my friend:thumbsup2

:rotfl:

August 1 means I can FINALLY say...

WE ARE GOING ON OUR CRUISE NEXT MONTH!!!!!!!

We are beyond excited, maybe I will throw a little cruise pre party Sunday night at surprise, any ideas on what I can serve?

:woohoo:
I said this to DH last night and he shrugged. He can't get excited until the day before we go. Me? I got excited back when we were considering booking.

You have to serve a drink of the day! :rotfl: which is so fitting considering:

I got mine from Tiffany yesterday! I meant to say something yesterday but I forgot. I LOVE it! Tiffany, you WAY undersell those things for the craftsmanship you put into them. It looks great! Thanks again!

Welcome to the family! :goodvibes

I'm not REALLY a lush.

:rolleyes1

Ok. Maybe a little. :upsidedow

Of COURSE you can chit chat with us!!!! (Welcome to the DISboards, too, btw!) How very exciting that this is your first cruise!!! The good news about booking in June is that you have a short wait!! :woohoo: You're mom is so generous!! Very sweet!

I got your email in the Hotmail acct mailbox as well. Tonight, I'll take that and update our stats, including the number of kids by age. We're approaching 450 in our group now!!! I'll also include your daughter's birthday on the "We're Gonna Celebrate" thread on our website!

There are SEVERAL home schooling families in our group. No doubt they'll make themselves known to you, too!

Thanks! YES! I'm sooooooo glad I don't have to wait for months and months. Although, to be honest, it seems like a very short time. Typically, we go to WDW every other year, and we plan it about 10 months in advance (I like to go BIG). So, we're used to counting down that length of time. 3 months seems sooooooooo short to us. :) I'm *definitely* not complaining.

My mom is very, very excited about going. My dad died July 1 of last year, so Mom is thrilled with the fact that we can all go together and enjoy a vacation as a family.

:) Homeschoolers tend to make themselves known ....... :confused3 It's just in our nature.

Welcome to our chat group. :)

ROTFL! I'm quite used to that on Splitcoast, anyway. Thanks. :)

And thanks to everyone for the welcome!

Your welcome! I'm glad you like it! And really there is not much in them cost wise, mostly time waiting for the machine to finish! LOL

I'm glad you fixed the part about not being a lush! :rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao:

I'm planning on checking with you each day to see:

1) What the drink of the day is,

and

2) What other drinks of the day you recommend! :thumbsup2

I am going to try the Mocachino (sp?) this trip! On the Wonder I went to the Cove Caffe to get one just before the drill because I thought it would be nice to sip on it while waiting for the thing to end and they wouldn't sell one to me. Needless to say I somehow didn't make it back there to get one. :upsidedow

Thanks!!

We are starting school on Monday, but I've not gotten books yet. :confused3 One of those things I guess I need to take time for this week. LOL!! We do have stuff we can start with. I just haven't gotten some other stuff. I'm so glad I don't have to report that kind of stuff to the state. :)

How old are your kids?? I have a Senior this year, an 8th grader (but 7th grade age), and a 3 year old (that's learning to read).

Since we are only there for one day, I did not buy the park hopper tickets, but rather just the single day, single park tickets for Magic Kingdom. If I heard her correctly, I paid $75 or $79 a piece for the adult tickets and like $49 for the kids. In all, it was something like $268 for the one day. And that does not include the hard tickets we already bought for the MNSSHP that night. They were almost as expensive. This is by far the most expensive way to do it. For every day that you add to the the tickets, the per day cost goes way down. So if you buy seven day park hoppers it is much, much cheaper per day than buying the single day tickets. Oh well, only there one day, so we pay, we pay, we pay.

I have never been to the MNSSHP. If we decided to buy ticket for that we can only go in at a certain time right? Are there any sites that have this discounted?

Have you seen the new show she is in on ABC family? Its actually pretty good. I was a HUGE fan of 16 candles - I may have set the record for watching it!

Oh, is this the one where her daughter is pregnant. I saw one show and it was pretty good.

Ok ... what's a fish extender???

Hi, welcome! If you go to the first page you will see lots of info. on everything and the Fish Extenders :-)

With all this talk about Video cameras I decided to purchase one. I looked on the site VideoMan recommended and decided on this one:

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/537998-REG/Sony_DCR_HC52_DCR_HC52_MiniDV_Camcorder.html

I'm a Sony fan and we have a Handycam that takes the Mini DVD's, but it's old and I don't like that the Mini DVD's only record for 30 minutes. The tapes record for 60 minutes. This was a pretty simple way to shop for a video camera! Thank you Videoman for the website.

PS - Videoman is our resident Video expert!

Tonya, I saw the blurb about the fish extenders on that page, but I must be missing something because it doesn't say *what* it is. I'm clueless.

Fish extenders are something hung up from the "fish" outside your cabin.
ours has 5 pockets since there are 5 of us. here is a link to see what they look like
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1219607
We have 50 cabins participating. Each cabin buys a little gift for the other cabins (stickers, candy, etc etc.) while the others are at dinner, you drop off your little gifts. it is just something fun to do. :)

Loved the circle t-shirts! How about some directions????

I'm a little behind to answer this. Here is the link to the thread on the Creative DIS Forum.

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1387362

I used elmers glue and mixed up regular dyes that you would use for tie dye and put it in a spray bottle. The hardest part was waiting for the glue to dry! It took 24+ hours with the humidity here in NC.

Thank you everyone for the nice comments about our shirts!

Heather - Your's turned out great! My Mickey head did not turn out as nice when I made my spiral tie dye shirt for our October cruise last year.
