I'm going back to work tomorrow...one crutch and all! LOL! I'm afraid I'm going to be exhausted until the end of the day and then sleep all night...but I need to go back. Cross your fingers I don't fall asleep at work!

I'm at work right now...and I've made it through the day so far!!! Only 2 more hours!!! Probably will nap when I get home though.

There's snow and ice coming! Fun fun! There's the chance they may close work tomorrow...so come back for one day, have off the next! Not too bad! I'm not counting on it though.

Hello all - giving us a bump up to page 1. I got the call at 5:45 this morning that school is closed today. We about 2 inches of snow but now it is turning to ice! Not good for driving weather! I am not looking forward to getting to work today. Everyone with snow and ice, be careful today!

Well, the weather is fun here!!! I'm not far from Crissi so we have similar weather. Took me awhile to unearth my car from the frozen snow. I actually didn't have any issues driving into work but boy - our parking lot was like a skating rink. I had to do that shuffle walk to get to the building!!!!

It's very icy here in Columbus, and even moreso south of us. It's snowing quite heavy at the moment. However, from about 10:30 last night until 8:00 this morning, it was all sleet/freezing rain/ice coming down. Some surrounding counties are in a Level 3 Snow Emergency, which is the most dangerous. For those of you in sunny states, that also means it's illegal to be on the roads. We are still on a Level 2. So, it's a work-at-home day.

I so not looking forward to unearthing my car, either, Melodie. I heard a neighbor trying to get into his truck this morning. It made me look outside to see what was going on. He was body slamming the door to help break the ice. There's a lot of snow to shovel around the car, too. I guess I know where I'll get my exercise tonight! This morning I scooped up the slush and chipped away at the ice underneath on my stoop and steps. It was HEA-VY. I was going to do more of the sidewalk, but abandoned that idea. It was just too hard.

Well we have about a foot so far, and it is still snowing. it goes great with the foot of snow we all ready had. It must be waist high in some of the snow drifts!!

Once upon a time (4 mos ago.) a great group of people got together to share a ship ride!! it lasted 7 days and the weather although rainy at times did not hamper anyone from enjoying their vacation. On the last day they went back to paraside... aka Castaway Cay!!! then the journey ended and we all to go back to reality. the end.

That's a great story, Val. Thanks!!! It's also so perfect that today's foot coordinates with yesterday's snow.

Well I just spent 50 minutes outside chiseling ice off my car and steps as well as shoveling snow....and I'm still not done! Thankfully the car is cleared off. However, I still have more snow to shovel. I'm whipped, sweaty, and my back hurts! You walk and you hit soft snow. CRUNCH. Soft Snow. Then finally when you make the complete step, you're down to 3/8" of softening ice. It's super heavy stuff. The snow has stopped falling for now, however.

Has anyone seen the footage on The Weather Channel of this man inside his car as it slowwwwwwlllyyyy was sliding into the Ohio River? Poor old guy! He's there holding his door open waiting for an opportunity to get out, but as he moved, the car would move. The car's tail end was in the water, but somehow, it stopped at least long enough to get him rescued. Not sure if the car made it or not. I would imagine it would have had to have totally slipped in. Great footage though.

In case you didn't see this posted on the main forum, I thought I would let you know that the DIY channel has an episode of Project Xtreme that is dedicated to the Magic's dry dock right before we got on it. It started tonight at 10:00 pm EST, but it's being show at the following times as well (all EST). I'm DVR'ing it, and I'm only 10 minutes into it, and I think it's cool!

Well, my job was actually closed today because of the snow but of course, I still went into work to get work to do at home! So technically I had a working snow day! I am glad though because with the ice, I was really nervous I'd fall.

To make you feel a little better today is pretty warm in Fl but tomorrow it's changing highs in the 50's lows in the 30's...sometimes your weather makes it all way down minus the snow...stay warm and safe...

BeachBratt and Val, thanks for the warm weather updates! We're getting another snow storm after midnight. That's one thing I love about our country. It's so diverse in climates that you can get away to an entirely different kind of weather if you choose to!

Maureen, I agree. I thought it was really interesting. I saved it because I know I would like to see it again. I think that's one of those shows where you hear something you didn't catch the first time you saw it. I so badly wanted to correct their report that the ship was all ready for passengers after it left BAE! Nice try, but we DISers know better! I'm just thankful that by the time we got on the ship, it and its amenities were in good shape!

OH! One more thing. I know Hadley hasn't posted on here in awhile, although she may lurk. She's been pretty active on our WB TA thread though. I just wanted to ask you all to have her and her family in your thoughts tomorrow. They are off to call Germany home! Sounds like they're all pretty excited. Of course not all things go as planned, including Rio's broken wrist that just got casted this week! Hopefully the long flight won't cause any swelling problems for him.
