It's 5:50am and we're sitting in the Rochester, NY airport waiting for a our plane. In Just 5 hours we'll be landing in Orlando!!:cool1:

:cool1:

Those of you with 10-11 year olds....
Are you letting them check themselves out of the kids clubs? And, if so, allow them to go where? My older son is a month shy of his 11th birthday so he can likely choose to go with the 8-10's or 11-12 group.

My DD will be allowed to check herself out, but she has to page us and is only allowed to grab a snack and/or drink and then head back to the room. She has been saving her money for 1 year, so we are allowing her to put part of that on her KTTWC to spend as she chooses, but once it is gone, that's it.

Arin......just make sure she keeps that key with her at all times...If someone finds it and its not puched........its free $$$$$ for them:mad:

I am definitely planning on getting them to the Kids Club. They've heard so much about it from Charlie's family that they're really looking forward to it. As a first-timer, I like the idea of knowing where they are when I'm off doing the grown-up stuff.:woohoo:

Well I believe there is an indicator for over 21 on the card. So the Magic would have to be at sea and the gift shop open.

Some places non alcoholic when in port or heading out to see.

a lot of snacks outside the theater
Or a lot of smoothies
Or a lot of pins and autograph books from the kiosks
Or the crap they sell on deck 9
Or a lot of cafe lattes

Actually I know the magic has to be at sea for the gift shop/duty free store. Not 100% sure about those impromptu little stands that sell random things.

Kimberly - So sorry for your troubles these past few days - Just think how much better it's going to be when you're enjoying your vacation! We'll be neighbors in 8 days!! Sorry in advance for any of DS4's tantrums!!!!:guilty:

Awe thanks....truly I know I shouldn't complain. This week has been an inconvience, not a hardship. Someone just sent me this AMAZING photo slideshow of Glaveston. That really puts life in perspective. I have someone coming in my home when electric is restored, so I can at least be at peace that everything will be looked over. As for work, I'm just giving up on thinking I can do it all...so I already told one of my co-workers that she can hit me when I return, but I'll buy her a great gift!

On a happier note, I know that indeed we are next door neighbors! I made note a long time ago that you snatched up a Cat 7 secret verandah stateroom! I think several in our group lucked out with some great locations either by choice or by pixie dust! No reason to apologize for DS4! I assure you we won't mind at all! I'm afraid that with a 76, 59, and a 3*cough* year old women, it will be pretty quiet! The noise you'll probably hear from us, if anything, will be me stumbling in at 1:30 am, and my DM getting up to go on Deck 9 at 2:30! Her nursing schedule is really going to be difficult for her to adjust to, and I know she will not be the only one from our group who will be struggling with the time! She's usually in bed by 7:00 pm...we won't even have dinner until 8:30!

I'm anxious to see the Treasure Map! Since I won't be able to get to my personal email, Stella is going to print a copy off for me, so I'll have to wait and see how brilliantly she pulled that together! You've all got me very excited!

I am SOOOO jealous - but happy for you - enjoy! :thumbsup2

Stella

Thank you for the GREAT job you did on the Treasure Map!!!!!!!

OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I agree - this is amazing - made my day

:welcome: Thanks for the tip

So pfishgirl....DH and I were figuring out which trip we wanted to rebook on board for next year, and decided a trip to Tortola looked good. So I decided to check out the trip thread and guess who looked familiar - YOU ;) So looks like we will be seeing each other's name for quite some time - we are rebooking the 9/12/09 on board! :cool1:

We are letting our ten year old check herself out, but she is going to page us when she does.
Also she does not have any spending money on her KTTW card, so that will also free up any temptations. :rolleyes1

Oh yeah....no money on his card either! If I put it there, he'd spend it all in the first hour - either at the arcade or the gift shop - whichever he walked by first!

He has a younger brother and I can't imagine his little brother would not want to be at the pool at the same time. My younger one prefers the shallow pool while the older one wanted to be at the family pool (the deeper pool). So likely I am close by if not sitting right there in front of the pool.

I wonder what that splash area they are putting in will be like? Is that meant for babies/toddlers or ?

I am pretty sure this is meant to take the place of the Mickey ears (toddlers with swim diapers on).

Stella:

   :yay: :yay: :yay:

The map is awesome! The kids are going to love it and it will really help them deliver f/e's etc. :)

Thanks for doing this for us!

I am going to print a nice copy for our scrap book. (or maybe print it up and see if everyone will sign it on our door. :)

I did not receive a map. I thought we were signed up. Maybe not.

Just finished FE gifts and started packing. We depart on Tuesday. See you all at 10 am at the port. Smooth saliling to all who have already left and to all who will be leaving soon. Prayers to those that are sick and those without
electricity or shelter because of the storm. I hope all is well soon.

Could you PM me that slideshow if possible. I would really like to see it.

We're at orange and I'm not talking Halloween pumpkins!

I will be very honest, this does not make me happy. We're now looking at a higher rate of this system devloping 20-50% over the next few days. Those numbers represent the chance of the system impacting land. Despite the numbers, there are some positive things to consider, we don't sail for one week. The wave should stay under Cuba and move towards lower Mexico, away from the US. This is a long skinny system, lengthwise with not much focused activity on the left side. The winds do push from the right, what we have to watch for is circulation and/or a hook pattern and surface temperature of the water. It just enter the warmer waters of the Caribbean Sea from the cooler waters of the Atlantic. The warmer water could be our worse enemy.

NHC's lastest statement...
. A WESTWARD-MOVING TROPICAL WAVE...ACCOMPANIED BY A BROAD SURFACE LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM...IS PRODUCING WIDESPREAD CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS OVER THE LESSER ANTILLES...AND ADJACENT CARIBBEAN AND ATLANTIC WATERS. THIS SYSTEM HAS BECOME A LITTLE BETTER ORGANIZED TODAY... AND ALTHOUGH UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE CURRENTLY UNFAVORABLE...THEY ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME MORE CONDUCIVE FOR SOME ADDITIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO OCCUR OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS

So why is it, this system becomes a little better organized, and I have tons left to pack!

Like you said we still do have one week left........

Fingers Crossed:grouphug:

I have a craving for some of those wings they put in Diversions and sometimes at Signals bar.

DH and I sneak down there for more than just the wings... love the nachos and hot dogs... not to mention a few beers.:rolleyes1

The children we will have with us.. Boy 11, Girl 12, Girl 14 are also first time cruisers.. Our son is 18 so if he isn't in The Stack, with the 14 year old, he will be with any College kids, IF they are on the ship.. I told my son, he's lucky I still look kinda young, so I will be going with him to the 1st College Meet so he doesn't have to go alone just in case no one shows up. 2 of the cruisers that were suppose to be with us as well, had to cancel because 1 of their College Proffesors told them, they'd lose credit for his class  Even though one is an honor student..

I am pretty sure this is meant to take the place of the Mickey ears (toddlers with swim diapers on).

The Wonder has a new area, next to the slide.. There is a Sorcerer Mickey's hat that looks like a sprinkler.. The water shoots out of the top.. and I believe water pops up from the floor as well...

AWESOME!!! :woohoo: They are a GREAT group over there as well.. We are doing a Back to Back with that cruise.. It will be our 1st B2B :yay:
Did you see the Nemo Tortolling Magnet on Post 1 ? It is made so anyone can use it..

Being a first-timer . . . what is The Stack? And there is a college meet?--That's great! (It's also great that you look young enough to go w/your son!:thumbsup2 ) That's a bummer about losing the credit for the class . . . I guess your son is disappointed. I am a bit concerned about the 3 days my girls will miss, even though they are really good students. One is off to a rocky start in accelerated math.:teacher: I haven't told the teachers, yet. Will send a note in on Monday.
