Does anyone know that for the Double Dip to Castaway Island if one can book a cabana for each day if available?? or is it one per cruise??

I am hoping that with 2 days I'd have a shot but am on the fence about actually needing one. We've had the best beach days of our lives on the family beach. There is something fun about the atmosphere of families enjoying the beach. I'm not sure it would add enough value but we'll see. So I'm taking the "God has a plan" approach. If there isn't one, it is because we'll have a great day without it for less money and we will no doubt.

I'm on the May 17th Double Dip FB group and it was reported there that all cabanas for that cruise are already booked. Even on double dips, they seem to book up immediately to concierge.

I don't think I'll even aggravate myself with trying to get a cabana.

REALLY too bad they allow people to book BOTH days, because that means we don't get any! :(

I agree. I mean, these are always while our school is still in here in NYC, so I can't take advantage of a double dip :(

But it does seem weird they wouldn't restrict them to once per cruise ahead of time like they do Palo dinner and brunch. (And Remy dinner and brunch on the Dream Class.)

I didn't get one for the May double dip, but I am a lowly silver :). Honestly with how much concierge guests pay extra, I do think it is fair for them to be able to snatch up all the cabanas for both days. Yes, I won't get one now, but they are paying a premium for those extra benefits so I understand. One day when I pay the premium, I'll get one!

I got one as a silver once and once when we sailed concierge. They are nice. Expensive. I check for them. If it is meant to be, it is meant to be. If not, we still have a fantastic time and I am $600+ richer. We will be on a double dip this summer, let's see if I am happy and a bit richer or poor and still happy! :P

I've sailed concierge. I've sailed insides & many rooms in between. I've gotten a cabana both with and without concierge. I agree, the price gap even to bump up from the family verandah up to the same size room in concierge is significant. I'm good with them having that perk. I know I'll enjoy having it myself at some point in the future.

We're on the May DD with you. I'm platinum & not even rushing to PIF. I have no intention of booking upcharge things so I'll hold onto that money until I have to hand it over. ;)

Not really. Do you want to limit all excursions as well? If something is available when your booking window opens, then you should be allowed to book what you like.

Palo and Remy are limited to once per cruise - well, twice if you do brunch and dinner - pre-boarding. I personally would put cabanas in that category rather than an "excursion" like the sting rays or something.

I've not tried as a Concierge passenger, but I'm willing to bet Shoreside can make reservations at Palo or Remy for more than one night, especially for Royal Suite guests.

I cant agree with you on this. The cabanas were first for, and are still given priority to concierge guests. There is no way DCL is going to alienate them. That extra amount they pay for their cruise gives them access to the cabanas first, as it should be. The concierge guests get access to priority boarding, priority tendering, priority leaving the ship, among other things. The reason is that DCL is selling a premium product, and those who pay that amount are expecting a premium service. If you want to guarantee yourself a cabana, sail in a concierge cabin.

I just booked one last week. I was not concierge and it was my second cruise. I went to port adventures after boarding. They told me to go to guest services and then said call from your state room. I did and was Put on the wait list. While in e rainforest room on Nassau day they called me on the, wave phone. I called back from the room and booked # 17

it list.

Yes. Concierge will get you any/all upcharge meals you ask for. No limit.
