Double Digits

It is the eve of the big event, my only child, my buddy is turning 10...Where has the time gone? So wish at times I could just press a button and freeze them...On the otherhand it is just amazing to see how far he has grown and to see what a great kid he has become....One proud mom here, but also sad. Gotta go and wrap his door, I wrap his door with wrapping paper on his birthday and also Christmas. It started so I could hear him sneak out and look at presents, ha and now it is tradition. The cutest was this past year on my birthday he wrapped my door, full circle mommy moment, so hope he does that for his kids a long long time from how, ha...

Anyway does anyone have any traditions they do for their kids on their special days?

My younger son is turning 13 tomorrow....not sure how that happened! It's really amazing how quickly they grow up.

I love your idea of wrapping the door, but since mine are 16 and 13 (tomorrow), I think it's a bit late for me to start.....

For birthdays, we go out for dinner at the birthday person's choice of restaurant.

For the first day of school, I always make a special cake.

For Christmas, one special present is always on the foot of DS's bed, instead of under the tree, so he can open it right when he wakes up.

Another proud Mom here with a double digit Dd she is my baby and was a surprise.(older children are 27 & 22) she turns 10 oct 5th. I just wish her Dad was here to see what a terrific kid she has turned out to be.Her surprise is my sister is taking her to the ocean for the weekend in oct for her birthday. Mary
