I thought I heard somewhere that Epcot no longer does the double decker bus with the characters? Did I really hear that? Is that true? I do know I do WDW several times a year, and we spend 3/4th of our time at Epcot, and I cant recall seeing it ONCE in the past few years.
official word appreciated.

I thought I heard it no longer runs...I haven't seen it in a few years now.

The bus no longer runs. They now have a "Character Connection" area next to the Fountainview where you can meet and greet several characters from 9 - 5:30 - Yesterday we saw Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip & Dale, Donald, Goofy, Pinocchio & Gideon.

Here's Mickey

One of my favorite things to do at Epcot was to ride on the top level of the double decker bus around the World Showcase. I was so disappointed when I went on my last trip and found out they don't do it anymore. Now they use the bus for the characters.

Not anymore. DCOH was discontinued.

The bus is still around. It's just not being used.

I hope they'll still use the bus at Christmas for the tree lighting ceremony in Epcot. The characters used to ride, all hanging off the side, back, waving, etc. to come to the little show. Then when they were done, they'd get back on the bus, waving, and you could follow them up past Norway. I used to sit on a bench by the bus-to me watching them get on and off the bus was more enjoyable than the show itself.

That is too bad. Too many of those meet/greet places. I prefer the more spontaneous type (though I know it was not spontaneous, it seemed that way though) of character interactions.

I loved when they would let guests ride it. Not only was it fun, but there was something really cool about watching it go through the countries. It just really "set it off." Made it feel even more authentic. Especially the UK.

I imagine it was hard with the people there during peak seasons and getting through the crowd, but I still miss it.
