Double Buggy ????

hello, we are visiting DLP in March with our three children. Our youngest son Jake(18 months at time of travel) has Down's Syndrome and as a result has Low Muscle tone, this means at the time of travel he will not be able to stand or walk.

Does anyone know whether the que aisles are wide enough to accomodate a double width pushchair, as he will certainly be too heavy & fidgety to hold for any length of time whilst waiting to take him on the rides, or will it be neccessary to apply for the assisted access pass (which apparently are not guaranteed anyway!)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Must admit I haven't really noticed Natalie, not having small children. Are you just thinking of Fantasyland rides? Peter Pan queue is really narrow as are Snow White, Pinnochio and probably others. Pirates of the Caribbean in Adventureland is wide until you get to the turnstile. I'd definitely think about applying for the assisted access pass as the entrance is then wheelchair accessible and therefore quite wide. Other than that you may have to hire 2 single buggies. I'm sure someone with young children will be able to help more. Anyway - have a wonderful trip!!!

Even single buggies will not go through many of the queue areas as they have turnstiles.
Think the suggestion of assisted access pass might be the better option.
Disney make a very big thing about ensuring that everyone can enjoy themselves so I think they will be used to your type of request.

We too have a son with special needs
The queues for rides at Disney do not allow buggies under any circumstances, at least not past a certain point.
We always went to Guest relations and obtained a Special pass that allowed access to the ride much faster, and often through a seperate passage or walkway, so if we couldn't take the pushchair all the way in at least we didn't have to hold/carry DS for so long.
We always took our DS to WDW but I guess that DLP rides will offer something similar. I noticed that IASW certainly offer a seperate special needs entrance ( sometimes its the exit) that enables people with disabilities to get right to the ride in their wheelchairs.
