Dorky Pin Collector Story

As I've mentioned, I'm new to the pin collecting world, spurred by my 4 year old's love for Disney pins. In the back of my mind, though, I thought I had bought a couple of pins before as mementos, but not for trading purposes. Lo and behold, I found a bag of three pins in my home office -- from 2002. One of them, from the Disney Wonder, is such a cool pin that I can't believe I've had in in a drawer for so long:

My husband and I laughed when we opened a drawer long after we started pin collecting in October 1999 and found...A WHOLE DRAWER FULL OF PINS!!! We didn't realize that we were actually pin collectors LONG before we thought we were!

Last year I got a pin in the mail from Kellogg's and do not remember ordering it, but I thought "Oh well, maybe I did". Anyway I got to talking to my mom and mentioned it and she says "Tony sent that to you". My brother had seen the offer on a box of cereal, cut the coupon and what ever else was needed and mailed it off.

Now this week, I get another pin from Kellogg's in the mail. Obviously my brother struck again. He knows we collect pins and so is sending off for these pins, but having them sent directly to us.
