DD will be turning two next month and I think would love a new kitchen set. I'm trying to decide between the Dora one and the princess one. Does anyone have any preferences of the two or have one they can tell me about?
I agree with PP. My dd is 5 and still loves the princesses, but "Dora is for babies." If you want to keep her interest for a longer time, Princesses are the way to go, or maybe something without a character.
We got our twin DD's (4 now, 3.5 at the time) the Princess kitchen for Christmas. Although they loved it....they had it pulled apart in about 3 weeks. I thought it was a bit flimsy; and it's easy for kids to just take apart. We don't have the Dora kitchen though; so maybe that one's the same way??
we have a beautiful wooden kitchen set, its solid wood not pressboard and all the kids (and adults) who see it fall in love. It will outlast any character love and be stored away for the grandkids.

We have a wooden one too, made by Little Colorado. Their website is www.littlecolorado.com, or you used to be able to get the kitchen from Back To Basics Toys. It is five years old and still looks brand new, and every child who comes to our house sets up in front of it and plays for hours. It doesn't have any bells, whistles, talking telephones, etc. - just imagination. I am sure it will still be great when we have grandkids (many decades from now, I hope! )
Have you found a Princess Kitchen somewhere? If so, can you let me know where, I had been looking everywhere for one and thought I was too late! I've been kicking myself for not getting it earlier!
We have the Dora kitchen and even though my DD outgrew Dora she still loves the kitchen. The acessories are great and durable. Even my DD7 and her friends play with it.
If you have to pick of those two, I would go with the Princess one. But I did what a few PP did, I went without a character theme for a sturdy wooden kitchen and they love it.
