Door signs

First, can you get this magnetic paper from say Office Depot or somewhere like that? Or, do you have to have it specially made?

Second, are you supposed to send this to the Cruise line beforehand? They are the ones putting it on your door, correct?

Thanks.

You take the sign with you and put it on the door yourself, unless you know someone that is cruising with you and have them do it.

The magnetic paper can be found at just about any department store or stationary store, or even online. I buy mine online in bulk, usually 25 sheets at a time.

Here's mine:

Verandah Man,

Thanks for your response. I had no idea how the heck it got onto the door. So, I would have to go and put it on the door myself? I see.... And where do you buy these sheets in bulk from? Just curious. I don't think I'll be needing 25, but you nver know.

Memaw2Wm,

That is a great one. Did you do that on Word? And what are the real dimensions of it? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks again to all,
Maria

Here is a sample of a door sign that I made for our last cruise.

I used Microsoft Word with some Dis clipart and Dis Fonts then printed it on magnetic paper.

I made one for each party in our group. While everyone was boarding and eating, I put them up on all of the doors. I also added a separate mag sign of the clipart image that I found below.

The signs were a big hit! The only problem was that since most of the group was on the DCL for the first time, they thought that the signs were official signs from DCL or our travel agent. LOL

I'd love to show my door signs here, but don't know how. Pls help. Thanks

Verandah Man,

Thanks for the website. I put it under my favorites for future use.

I love those door signs. Thanks for sharing. I have some time before our cruise and I will need every minute to be creative with our sign. Thanks again.

Thanks for letting me know about Disney Experience for downloading the Disney-style fonts. They worked great! Any suggestions for getting some of the graphics, like the Disney Cruise logos? This board has been awesome with all of the tips and helpful information!

Here are copies of the magnetic paper with our images on them...some of the background looks black because that is how the page uploaded...I am sure some techie could do it correctly....but not me! Each person in our party has a "character" assigned to them....the girls each picked their favorites. I will cut them each out and place them on the appropriate doors with both doors having a "title".

What I did was cut the Mickey head off the backing then scanned it into my computer then added the Mickey heads into my design and printed it off onto the magnetic paper.

It is beautiful here this morning in Lake County, Florida. The high temp will be near 80 this afternoon, with plenty of sunshine!!!

DW and I are headed into town for a while to pick up a few things that we forgot to pack for the trip.

its 30 here in western ny and sunny to bad it is not going to last freezing rain and colder for latter tonightwe are going to try to add our count down clock today for our june 2006 western cruise it will be our first 7 night cruise how do you print over the mickey ears after you scan them ...Mike

I opened my Print Shop Deluxe program, loaded in the Mickey head then added the wording over the Mickey head that way.

What sites does everyone use to find the DCL clip art? I have done a search on yahoo and come up empty.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Dan,

I'm at my mom's in Florida and don't remember the exact link, but give this a try just for the heck of it, www.disneysites.com I'm not sure that's the exact url address, but that's what popped into my head while I was reading your post.

Andy

P.S. I just checked that link myself and you can find Disney clip art at that site!!!

Yes I did it in Word and it's printed on an 8½x11 sheet of magnetic paper.
