Can someone explain what these look like or post an example? I would really like to create one for the family, but don't know what is appropriate to put on it.

Thanks,
Tori

Tori,

Check out the following thread.
Door Sign Thread
That thread also has a link to another thread about door signs.

Lots of links for the fonts, examples, and clip art.

Finally, make sure to come by 8540 to see our door magnets.

Instead of Disney characters I found stick figure people (on the internet) for our 9/19/04 cruise. I was really low on toner. Any way, I put all our names below each person, wrote, 'Sailing The WONDER Together" in the Walt Disney Text (avail. online), put lime green mickey ears (paint chip samples provided by Home Depot) in blank spaces, got my sheet laminated to make it more durable, and let my kids put foam stickers all around the edges. It was a fun project for me and my kids. The door sign stands out considering most of the doors just have the stateroom number. Actually, now that I think of it, if you can, use the On Command (that new post it product that's removable). B/c althougth you can see your door sign on the door you can't see it from the hallway. The exterior doors have a wooden frame that would be a perfect spot for a door sign. I think if I had our sign poking out more I'd find our room (or at least the right hallway) better. I also read that some one used a wind sock for a door sign as well. Enjoy the project. It will become a nice memory of your trip! Take care! I wish I was still cruising. :(

Krystina'sMommy,

Great job on the door signs!!! I would love to do something like that...have the font and clipart, but I was wondering what program you did your door signs in?? Unfortunately, I don't have Publisher...just Word! Where did you find your magnetic paper...I like the square look of your signs!

Thanks!

Hope these links work! These are the door signs I created for our Sept 19th Wonder Cruise. We got lots of compliments on them. PM me if the links don't work & I'll email you the pictures directly.

Enjoy your cruise!

We saw your signs while onboard they are great! DH asked why we didn't make any. He works for Xerox and as soon as we got back he brought home a new printer that he is testing and the first thing he said was, "Now we can make the best sign for our next cruise!" It was too cute, he's become one of us!!!:teeth:

Ivy,
I made my signs with American Greetings Print & used the disney font & clipart that I collected from around the net (but found the links to here on the DISboard). Hope that helps!

I just packed a roll of scotch tape and taped our sign to the door. Remember to bring your sign home so you can put it in your photo album! I don't know that I would spend time doing this for our next trip...I didn't see a lot of signs on our deck BUT it did help us see our room easily. Good for the kids.
