Door decoration question

Are there any rules about what can go on your door?

Can you put something on that has a logo of a website?

Its not a sales thing, but the logo is on the magnet. Mickey is in it and probably not with any copyright blessing, although I doubt most people have any legal right to use the copyrighted characters on their decorations. But this happens to have the logo of an unrelated business as well.

I don’t want to offend anyone and I don’t want the stateroom host to have to tell me to take it down either.

I don't know the "official" answer to this but our magnets have had logos on them. From our TA (their logo), we also have Phillies magnets on our door.

None of the magnets with logos have a Disney character on it though.

I guess I could ask before I put it up. 🤔
I honestly don't think the DCL stateroom hosts are tasked with enforcing Disney copyright laws. My only worry is whether the magnet is considered unique or interesting enough that someone may "borrow" it from your door... otherwise, I think you are fine to hang it.

Amongst our magnets we always put a couple from the DCL Dude Podcast, and usually some from Etsy that use characters. Never had a problem. I doubt anyone but other cruisers are looking at them. If you put up something spectacular, a passing crew member might stop to admire it... I think as long as you aren't putting up anything that someone might find offensive, you're probably good.

Yes, you can put any of that on your door. DCL doesn't censor as long as it doesn't offend public decency. At Christmas lots of cruisers go all out and string up electric lights on their doors; at Halloween some put fake cobwebs & stuff on them. Anything goes, even since reopening.

Now I'm very curious about the magnet in question. Care to share it with us?

lol. It's a surprise one for my DH. He's a car guy. Mickey is wearing a t-shirt with the logo, as well, although I'm not sure you can tell. I was worried more about the logo in the upper corner.

DCL would have no problem with that all. My wife and I make our own magnets and we use characters all the time. The only thing that DCL would object to would be something offensive like profanity or nudity.

I think that is cute! Chevy and Ford fans might object... :P
Thanks. :)

I've made a bunch, all with characters found on the 'net. So my door will be filled anyway with lots of variety. That's the only one with a logo, though.

We were on a cruise several years ago that did the "Door of the Day" segment on the morning tv show that the Cruise Director and Assistant Cruise Director put on every day. Each day they featured a guests highly decorated door that the crew member picking the doors liked. So at least someone from the Staff was looking on that cruise! :D

I do it all for my pleasure and for my family's pleasure, but its nice if you hear that someone likes your decorations.
