Hawky7, I had my eye open looking for you. I figuer if I saw a women with lots of bags, I stop her and say hi. But never saw you.
We showed up at 7:00 am, there were 4 people in line. We went for breakfast since the line wasn't so crazy. Got back at 8:10 and still the same 4 people, so we got in line. We were sitting along the building, in shade. It was nice. I thought well a two hour wait wouldn't be bad. Well it wouldn't be bad till 9:15 when they made us line up in the SUN!!!

(which is were the line was the rest of the day) We were told we couldn't block other stores. Yeah the stores that were not even opening till 10:00am. So out in the sun we went to bake. The manager of Vault 28 was very nice. She saw my mom had a hard time walking and standing(she needs a new knee) so she said it was okay for her to sit over by Castel and she could come in with us when it was time.
We were the second group of 4 let into the store. It was like being a kid on christmas morning. Oh gee what do I want.

My mom went with two wristlets, 1 55th ann and one Blue Sketch and she got a letter carrier. I went with the message bag and a wristlet. It was hard to decided, due to you had just seen the pattern for the first time. You know there are people sweating and waiting to come in. So you feel a bit rushed, but I told myself to take my time and pick a pattern I liked. They even restocked as I was standing there. Which I thought was nice. They could have spread out the merchandise because really only two people could look at a time with out asking someone to move. I think to stations of bags would have been nice.
The store was staffed very well. Seem to have quite a few cm's, I think more then normal with is nice. I over heard one guest complaining that there were some rides down in the park and he wanted to go into Vault 28 but if your not buying a bag, your not let in(well until the event is over) So he was voicing his dismay. I felt sorry for him, that would kind of suck when you are from out of town. But rides go down and events happen. But it made me wonder, why Disney did this is such a small store? Why not get one of their open conference rooms and have all the Dooneys for sale in there? Im sure the guest would have been much more happier indoors then in the hot sun. Disney can't control the weather but they know July is a hot month. Our summer came late, but it showed up and is making itself known. lol
Anyhow, we were told when we left the store and got our wrist bands to come back early about 1:00. Our plan for the day was just Dooney, the parks will be busy and its just to hot. So we just stayed in DtD. I wish you could have gotten the gift right away. Not to sure why they did it the way they did. But Im sure they have their reasons. So at 1:00 I lined up. I think I was like 15th in line. Not to bad. We were let in starting at 1:30 and the line seem to go quickly. We were 3rd group in this time. Got to choose which cosmetic bag we wanted. It was nice and quick and cool in the store.
Then we left and came home. It was fun. A little to hot, wouldn't have been as bad if we had shade to wait in. Oh well can't have it all.
