Dooney & bourke Disney collaboration part 2

You might want to call Dooney. I found them very helpful. They did ask whether I got it online or in a store though. At which point I think it begs the question, "Why are these the only bags that do NOT come with some sort of Dooney Medallion?" I suspect it's either cost cutting or Disney wanting less of a Dooney presence on the bags. I think either way they greatly underestimated the consumer.

I just got my hearts from Dooney. The one for the wristlet is a little awkward.

Interesting about the gold plate. On Dooney's site the larger bags with the gold plate have a leather tag. The wrislet/cosmetic bag? didn't have anything. The funny thing about the balloon wristlet is that it has a riveted loop that doesn't hold anything. It looks like it's missing something. The bigger bags I guess I see that it doesn't need it. I guess someone, somewhere made a mistake with the product listing.

I really wish I would have printed a copy of the photos on the website. How can they claim that there should not be a medallion???

I keep waiting with antipcipation for my tags to show up. I don't want to use my bags until they are complete. The downer is I bought my wristlet on ebay and think it is doubtful that I will get a tag for that one. The pp is correct, there is a spot to connect something and it is a bit awkward to have nothing there.

This is interesting....after several emails to disneystore.com Mary sent me two seperate emails saying I will be receiving the heart in the upcoming weeks. The same day I received another email saying "Upon reviewing your order, I would like to inform you that we are still waiting for a response back from our Distribution Center regarding the missing heart medallion. As soon as we receive information on this, you will be notified. I'm sorry for any inconvenience." Then today I received a call from disneystore.com and the guy on the phone told me that while they were manufactoring the purses Dooney accidentally left off the heart and they are now making them for the ballon bags and will be sending them out.

I was just looking on Dooney.com and with the exception of the Collette style, all the Shiny It bags seem to have the heart attached to the zipper pull, as opposed to hanging from a longer leather loop/strap. Might explain the problems with attaching the hearts that are being sent out?

So I got my medallion today. Sadly it's the beige strap for the black balloon satchel.
Did anyone else have this problem or is it just the beige strap, which by the way, looks way stupid. Oy.

Beware!!! I have never owned a designer bag in my life, now I have 4! And they were not in my budget either LOL.

I HEAR YOU!!! I have never owned a designer bag in my life either and I currently have two and am hoping for a third as a Christmas present!!

This was a first for me. I was at Home Depot tonight and an older lady working there came up to me and said "Oh, you have a Mickey Mouse Dooney, I want one sooooooooooooo bad!!!". Then she proceeded to show me her crown on her tooth that has a black Mickey Mouse on it...

Oh No....Gross much??!! Wonder if her dentist thought she was nuts or maybe its a family member...lol

Actually, my tonal mickey letter carrier does not have a medalion either... I never noticed before it became an issue with the balloon bags. There is no medalion shown in the pictures for any of the tonal bag styles. The mickey and minnie faces bags have them though, so it's not a cloth bag thing.

Well we arrived last nite and headed over to downtown disney this evening. Shopped at WOD and TREN-D.. did not see the big overnight bag in the sketch 2 pattern. At Tren-d the CM said they had sold out the last one today and WOD CM had no idea what I was talking about. Most of the bags were there.. saw Tonal, Sketch 2, colored sketch.. but sadly no new prints. Will let you all know when I see something. Visting Universal tomorrow, and hoping to go to disney parks on Wednesday.

I was sent both the black and tan straps with my medallion...from Dooney. I did tell them it was black and they sent both anyway. I find it in poor service that many of us have the "Mary" emails and they are telling others that the bags are supposed to come without the medallion.

My medallion update...last week I sent a not so nice email to guest services, explaining how I was still waiting for them to let me know what's going on. The next day I received an email saying they would take care of it, and please allow them until Friday and they would call me. Well...they didn't call...they had my cell # and I was in WDW on Friday...no missed calls. Anyhow...Just got back today and checked my email. I have 2 of the "Mary" emails saying I will get my "heart" medallion. Not sure I believe that I will receive them...and, i have one black balloon bag and one white...so the black should have the duck medallion...it's the one that comes with the black bags, right? It's on my black Mickey bag. Guess I'll wait and see...or maybe reply...not sure yet. I took my black margot crossbody on my trip to WDW and got soooo many compliments on it. And I did not see this bag for sale anywhere. Saw both black and white balloon bags in several shops, but didn't see that style. Also met some fellow disers waiting for caramel popcorn at the Werthers shop in Germany...they commented on my purse...then immediately asked if I was on Disboards! They also said they hadn't seen this bag anywhere on property...so I am glad I bought it online. I did find a cute little "bag tag" at Pop Century in the shop. It just has 5 different colored Mickey heads on a clip...red, orange, blue, green and yellow...all the colors on the bag, so it looks cute hanging on it. I still want my medallions....just on principle. But I am glad I found something for my bag.

I wasn't too keen on any of them at first, but I just received the lighter (white?) color in the Bucket Bag style and I love it! The colors are little bit more pastel in person than on-line, IMO . . .

I haven't seen the black in person; hopefully someone will share their thoughts.

I bought the lighter color. I really liked the black, but it was hard to find good placement on the black purse. Most of them I saw seemed to have the straps running right through the princesses. Maybe I will get lucky and find a good one on my trip. It sounded like those are not usually available in the World, so probably not.

Then again, do I really need another one??? Need....no.....want....YES!!!!!!!!

I have the black wristlet and I like how the design pops on the black background. That bucket bag is on my wishlist though.

I like the black princesses one much better than the white background. I bought the white bucket bag and haven't used it yet. Wrapped it up for Christmas because I can't decide if I want to keep it or return it. I use my black princess satchel and wristlet quite often and have received several compliments on them. I like the way they pop with the background.
