Donuts in the magic kingdom?

DS's tradition is to have donuts before going on Dumbo. When he first went to Disneyland at 2 1/2 we happened to pick up some donuts en route to the park in Downtown Disney. When we went back at 3 1/2 he insisted we do donuts again (shocked that he remembered this detail!) and we had to find some inside the park.

Well, now we are heading to Disneyworld and we were going through the parks, where we are eating, etc. and he said "donuts before dumbo"

Are there donuts to go in the magic kingdom? We are staying at the Contemporary. I don't want to be running around elsewhere in the morning. Do I need to pick these up the night before? (we'll be doing epcot the day before)

Oh-and the donuts were beignets too which I think are a tall order.

You won't find beignets similar to Ralph Brennan's or Cafe Orleans/Mint Julep Bar anywhere in WDW. POFQ has beignets but they are different than DL's.

Starbucks/Main Street bakery has donuts and apple fritters. Not sure if they have regular glazed donuts.

Crystal Palace used to have donuts but they don't carry them anymore. Starbucks varies by the season sometimes they do sometimes they don't. Perhaps you should pack some grocery store donuts in your suitcase? WDW is much more a cupcake place than donuts.... Or perhaps create a new WDW tradition Sleepy Hollow does open early and they have funnel cakes and yummy waffles.

The contemporary has delicious donuts at their coffee bar in the ground floor. They are not beignets though. They also have donuts at the ttc that are really good. They are huge. My dd lives them. She can't have donuts at home but disneys are peanut free.

How about Dole whips before Dumbo? That is much easier :-). I agree with the others, maybe Starbucks would be your best bet. They may carry some pre-packed donuts in the little grocery sections at the resort shop.

We've been explaining to him that WDW is very different from DL. I think a cupcake after dumbo at WDW sounds pretty good to me at least. (not for breakfast) But, I imagine we don't have to book it to Dumbo anymore anyway) I still can't believe this is a tradition since he was so young and he brought it up the next year.

I'll check those places.

We should be at DL in August and maybe we can get the beignets then.

Thanks for the help!

If you don't eat those PO beignets right when they come out of the grease, they will turn into hard, tough lumps of dough within five minutes. They are not very good. Not at all like Cafe Du Monde in NOLA.

But Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach have the best little donuts in the world. Fresh from cooking and covered with either sugar or cinnamon sugar in a bag. They are great.

Unlike the beignets at the Mint Julep Bar in DL, the ones at POFQ are not Mickey shaped.

The water parks, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, have donuts.
