Don't you wish Disney offered a moderate hotel with indoor corridors!

Guess I am the minority here. I find more noise associated with indoor corridors. (Doors slamming, people talking, noise, etc)
And in case of a fire, I feel more safe.

I have to concur for a second! While it didn't bother me at the time, the only noise issues I remember having at a resort were in the indoor hallways at AKL...sometimes kids get pretty wild after running down those long, long hallways past your room! I remember once getting slamming into by a three year old and it scared the daylights out of me (I couldn't avoid being hit--she came in a diagonal down the hallway--and in a direct beeline--and I was pushing a stroller). I think all the running down the inside corridors gets some kids very excited!

I prefer the exterior walkways. I like to know that, in an emergency, I can leave my room and be outside, not trapped in a corridor with lots of people who may be panicky. I don't care about people looking in my room from outside. If I want privacy, I can close the curtains.

I do think that a real food court at the deluxes would be nice, although it wouldn't be enough to convince me to stay in one!

I agree. I like the exterior walkways too for the same reasons.

Outside corridors never bothered me until this last trip I went on. We were staying at POR Oct 1st through 8th and it rained basically all week we were there (downpouring at most times at night). So it was a pain in the neck to just go down to the food court to grab a cup of coffee or a soda. It would have been so much nicer to be able to walk inside to do that.

The last 2 trips that we stayed in a moderate it rained the entire trip. That's exactly why we bumped up to deluxe that and the fact that we have 5 in our family.

We stayed 2 nights in the new Nickelodeon Family Suites(Holiday Inn) during our second trip this summer. I would definately do it again, the walkways were all covered, the suites were very nice and the activites for the kids were great. I even saw lots of teens there which was nice for us.

I'd like to see more mods and values that sleep families of five or six. Most families I know have three kids, and our only choices are POR or deluxe. Granted, those are some pretty nice choices, but it'd be nice to try the other moderates and the value resorts without paying for two rooms.

I know it's a pipe dream, but it would be nice.

I second that request! I could careless about the interior corridors but really wish they would add trundle beds to all their moderates and even some WL & AKL standard rooms. It would just be nice to be able to try the other resorts if we wanted to and not break the bank. I love POR thank goodness so I'm glad that we have that option atleast.

I don't really care one way or the other about the indoor or outdoor walkways or hallways. HOWEVER children seem to find it to be totally irresistable to have a good run down the interior hallways, and yelling all the way. Either way, I prefer a higher floor for safety because I vacation solo. Because I'm solo, I tend to really keep the door locked at all times, and the drapery closed if it is an outside walkway.

I really do miss the food courts when I'm at a deluxe. Wish they would add even a small one at them. Some do have them..Polynesian has Captain Cooks and the CR has their small food court area. But...BW, YC, and BC have not so much. Yes, BC does have the new MarketPlace and that is certainly better than nothing. At least it's easier to get some coffee or soda there.

AKL has a VERY nice food court, IMO. Different 'stations'...a nice 'grab and go' section too.

we stayed here alo on the second part of our vacation last week... we came from POR which if you saw my review was not for us.... i loved the nick suites and one main reason was what you said .... the covered walk ways..and the food court was so much better and priced better too!!! and the best part was the room size.... i wish disney would build an affordable suite like this i bet it would be sold out everyday!!!

I think it would be wise for Disney to have a little diversity within each class of hotel. Why not build a Moderate with interior coridors? Surely it wouldn't cost that much more.

Actually adding interior hallways does cost a lot more to build and upkeep. You have the carpeting, the upkeep of the walls, interior heating and cooling, lighting. Then the additional floor space affects the insurance costs.

So yes Interior hallways would make the resort more expensive than the design they have now.

This is one the reasons dues are more expensive for DVC resorts that have interior hallways over outside entrances such as OKW and SSR.

It's not the cost of building a moderate with interior hallway. That is not the issue here.

The issue is that Disney does not operate on a resort by resort basis. It operates on the entire Walt Disney World basis. If it builds a moderate with interior hallways, it will take business away from the low end deluxe, like WL and AKL.

Disney is not going to canablize its own business.

I don't mind outside corridors, in fact, the Inn at the Amelia Island Plantation is a very nice hotel with outside corridors, but I miss the balcony and privacy that deluxes have at Disney. I want to be able to leave the window open without people being able to look in. Also, I love sitting on the balcony drinking my morning hot chocolate on the balcony while I watch the world go by. Of course, I'm one of those guys who does spend a lot of time in his room--or at least at the resort.

1. interior hallways
2. queen size beds
3. a resort room with the ability to hold a bigger family comfortably
4. WL to be connected to the monorail
5. food court at all deluxes (even though I think AKL has a good food court in the Mara, my favorite resort the BWI has nothing but the Belleview Lounge for a quick continental breakfast in the am.)

I don;t mind the outside hallways( though I do prefer inside) I think the best thing DW could do would be to have a value/mod category that slept five in all rooms. That seems to be the biggest request there is, without having to spend a fortune to do it. Have less amenities like fancy sit down rest. or hot tubs, but makes the rooms affordable for families of five.

I agree. Disney is running a business. If you want the upscale ammenities, you move up to the deluxe level and pay more. If they put the deluxe features in a moderate, then who would pay for deluxe?

Sounds like the Swan or Dolphin with a discount rate! Add in more restaurants to your wish and it is!

Originally it seemed that WL was geared towards that, but with all it's popularity, the prices are almost that of a deluxe. I stayed in WL the first time for $119 a nite Standard view.

But I often wonder, wouldn't it be grand if Disney offered a moderate with inside corridors. It would make me look no further. Right now I stay in deluxes because I am not fond of outside corridors.

So do you think we could possibly influence the next resort built? I am not fussy, the resort does not have to have 3 star restaurants. Food court is fine for me

And if they don't want a hot tub ,,okay there too!

I just want to be able to go into my resort and take an elevator into my room

Is that so much to ask for and not pay $300 plus a nite

well while the deluxes have inside corridors, two of the nicest ones require you to walk outside to get to your building -- the GF and the PR....

I know this is odd, but one of the reasons I stay at the moderates is because of the outside corridors. I hate the feeling of not having a direct exit in case of an emergency.
