Don't you wish Disney offered a moderate hotel with indoor corridors!

I know I do!

Originally it seemed that WL was geared towards that, but with all it's popularity, the prices are almost that of a deluxe. I stayed in WL the first time for $119 a nite Standard view.

But I often wonder, wouldn't it be grand if Disney offered a moderate with inside corridors. It would make me look no further. Right now I stay in deluxes because I am not fond of outside corridors.

So do you think we could possibly influence the next resort built? I am not fussy, the resort does not have to have 3 star restaurants. Food court is fine for me

And if they don't want a hot tub ,,okay there too!

I just want to be able to go into my resort and take an elevator into my room

Is that so much to ask for and not pay $300 plus a nite

With all the research I have done it never dawned on me that Mods are all outside corridors. Duhh  You learn something new all the time!!!

That's one of the reasons we're trying the Swan this next trip! (although I didn't know they ALL had outside corridors either!)

I am pretty picky about things being quit around my room so I might be in the minority here when I say that when I request a room on a higher floor I have had no problems.

I stayed at Caribbean Beach when it first opened. We were offered first or second floor. Stupidly, we took first. The outside corridors on first floor led us to close out blinds all the time. Not a security problem, just a scrutiny question. People walked by all the time.

I thought I was the only person who felt this way!! I much prefer indoor corridors. A Mod with indoor corridors would be heaven!

It might be heaven, but it's not gonna happen. Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge, although the rooms are smaller than the other Deluxe resorts, were designed as and considered Deluxes all along. The person who paid $119 a night at WL got a special/sale/promo/deal whatever you want to call it.

Disney's not likely to suddenly - or ever - change the design of an entire category of Resort. WL and AKL have too many features to downgrade them to something category like ModeratePlus, and I can't see them creating an entirely new category of resort. If anybody wants indoor corridors, well, they've gotta stay in a Deluxe property. Disney's focusing its main expansion on DVC properties.

I think it would be wise for Disney to have a little diversity within each class of hotel. Why not build a Moderate with interior coridors? Surely it wouldn't cost that much more. I doubt it's about the elevators - the Mansions at POR have elevators.

I personally do not have a problem with exterior coridors. I actually preferred them when I was a manufaturers representitive. I would request ground floor and back my car right up to my room. I do recognize that there are some privacy issues though.

If you want interior corridors without going broke, book standard view at AKL or WL. You get all of the benefits of two very nice resorts without the big price tag. The Swan/Dolphin are another option, since you can usually find nice discounts there. We stayed at the Swan on our most recent trip and I can't say enough nice things about the place. The only major drawback there is that the less expensive rooms at the Swan or Dolphin do not have balconies. The good thing is that you can get a room high enough up that you can still have a very nice view out of your window.

No, it's not too much to ask. Outside corridors don't bother me, but I wish they offered a mod with two queen size beds in a room!

Well, maybe they do, but we didn't find it. :rotfl: As little time as we spend in our hotel, we don't really think the deluxes are worth the money, however, dh and I cannot sleep in a double bed with another person. We are way too used to our king-size bed at home, and even the queens seem cramped.

Yes, I wish a moderate had indoor corridors and was in the Americana theme like Liberty Square! :cool1: :flower:

I'd like to see more mods and values that sleep families of five or six. Most families I know have three kids, and our only choices are POR or deluxe. Granted, those are some pretty nice choices, but it'd be nice to try the other moderates and the value resorts without paying for two rooms.

I know it's a pipe dream, but it would be nice.

Well there is a rumor that they are building family suites at the value resorts. I think it would be a great option because a lot of families have 3 or more kids.

At this point they aren't doing any building so everyone will have to wait until or if Disney builds another resort.

I don't really mind outside doors at Disney, but I prefer interior corridors at non-Disney hotels for safety reasons.

I don't mind outdoor corridors at all, and I always request 1st floor.

But.....

I would really rather see deluxes offer full food courts like the moderates. :flower:

Don't you wish Disney offered a value resort with indoor corridors!!! :)
...not just the moderate... but the value too!

Nolcrest...I thought I was the only person in the entire world that felt that way. I really do miss the food courts when I'm at a deluxe. Wish they would add even a small one at them. Some do have them..Polynesian has Captain Cooks and the CR has their small food court area. But...BW, YC, and BC have not so much. Yes, BC does have the new MarketPlace and that is certainly better than nothing. At least it's easier to get some coffee or soda there.

As to the inside vs. outside hallways....I have to say that my noisiest stays were with inside hallways. I don't mind the exterior walkways. If they started putting inside hallways in all the resorts, then the prices would go up. That's why they are moderates. The fewer amenities you get, the less you pay. If a larger family wants to go, then they could reserve two rooms. I have to say that I would almost rather two rooms at a value over one room at a deluxe. You get double everything, for about the same price, maybe less. Sure, I would love to have queen sized beds in all the resorts. But with the smaller sized rooms in the mods and values that isn't going to happen anytime soon.

I prefer the exterior walkways. I like to know that, in an emergency, I can leave my room and be outside, not trapped in a corridor with lots of people who may be panicky. I don't care about people looking in my room from outside. If I want privacy, I can close the curtains.

I do think that a real food court at the deluxes would be nice, although it wouldn't be enough to convince me to stay in one!

Guess I am the minority here. I find more noise associated with indoor corridors. (Doors slamming, people talking, noise, etc)
And in case of a fire, I feel more safe.

Outside corridors never bothered me until this last trip I went on. We were staying at POR Oct 1st through 8th and it rained basically all week we were there (downpouring at most times at night). So it was a pain in the neck to just go down to the food court to grab a cup of coffee or a soda. It would have been so much nicer to be able to walk inside to do that.
