Yep, my little ones have been playing with the new version for awhile and of course when I showed them pics of the original version, they thought it very old-fashioned, LOL...but I like the original best!

And don't even get me started on what they've done to Holly Hobbie!!! Yuck!

My girls saw a special featuring this version on Nickelodeon one day...I couldn't believe they were calling this Holly Hobbie, LOL! I guess it's supposed to be the "grandaughter", but they're still calling her Holly Hobbie .

Never a strawberry shortcake fan, maybe I was too old. But Holly Hobby..... that should be against the law. I have a whole bag full of the old ones. I might take them out, wash them and show them to my DD.

I loved Holly Hobbie when I was a kid.

I remember getting a HH wishing well board game for my 9th birthday.

Why does everything have to be "hip and cool"? HH was just fine the way she was.

The real Strawberry Shortcake was the best!!! I had a few of her friends too (one that smelled liked blueberry and I think there was a lemon one too). I'm pretty sure there's a strawberry shaped house somewhere in my parent's storage room

I totally miss Strawberry Shortcake. I probably would still have them in the rafters somewhere (like my barbies and other junk) if my "friends" didn't theif them right from under me. I loved that smell they had. That was the best. Not quite totally strawberry. Kinda more like a baby powder strawberry.

I miss the real Strawberry Shortcake too! When I was little I had my whole room decorated with SS stuff. I even had her house. I still do...somewhere. It really depresses me that they feel they have to urbanize classic characters to get today's kids to like them

I don't miss her, because my mom saved EVERYTHING and now my DD (5 tomorrow) plays with it at Nana and Papa's. In fact we have all of these things pictured plus lots of friends and a daisy swing set. It is fun to see the originals and DD doesn't even want the new ones, she likes mine!

Oh boy do I miss the real Strawberry and Holly!!! DD plays with the new SSC and she also didn't like the old ones when I showed them to her from the internet. My mom threw out all my stuff!! I had so many things from SSC, all her friends, etc..... DSIS was a huge Holly fan and we don't have any of it. My mom also threw out all my Cabbage Patch kids stuff!! And I had everything!!! The new CPK aren't the same either and I like the old ones so much better!!!

Well, I have started collecting my old toy collection on Ebay! So far I have 3 Cabbage Patch Kids from the 80's in their box!!!!

I miss her too. I had the whole set for my DD and she loved it. I had done her room in SS also. Now my DGD loves SS, but it is not the same.
