Don't you just hate it when someone slams their car door into yours?

DD and I picked up our new car in Orlando last week, spent a few days at the parks and drove home to Louisiana. I was very picky about where I parked. On the way home we made a stop at a road side rest stop. A family in a pickup truck pulled up beside us much closer than he had to and opened his door into the side of mine with a loud bang. :furious: I jumped out and ran around to look, no damage thankfully. He just looked at me and said "No problem". No, there wasn't, but not because of anything he did.
Does this make you see red when it happens to you?

YES!

:furious:

I have two dents on my doors from morons who can't judge how close to park.

Just recently, someone did it right in front of us. There was a very obese man trying to get in the passenger seat of the car next to us, and he squeezed himself in so hard with his door that he dented his own door with my side mirror and scratched my mirror. I was furious because there was no reason they couldn't have pulled out of that parking spot to let him in.

Hey, I'm fat too, but I have better sense than to squeeze 10 pounds of you-know-what into a 5 pound bag.

nah, it happens. i recently took my two dd's to a baseball game. and we had to park very close to another car. both girls were very careful getting out and the door did touch the other car. the guy jumped down my daughters throat. she apologized, and was ready to move on. he didnt move on. he went on and on. i am a pretty even keel person overall, but i walked up to the guy and said, "she apologized, now drop it or else!" i am about 6'4" and in pretty good shape. the guy dropped it. you can tick me off and get away with it, but do not get in one of my kids faces. i would have decked the guy in a second.

Yes, it's easy for you to say "it happens," when your kid is the one doing it!

Why didn't you just let the kids out of the car before you had to park so close to someone else? :confused3

While I understand that accidents happen, I wish more people would just be considerate. My new car has made it without too many dents (one large one on the passenger side), but it's only a year old so I'm sure there'll be more. My husband's poor car looks like it's been beaten up. The entire passenger door is covered with dents from people slamming their doors into it. I wish people would be more observant because it drives me crazy!

Yes, I hate it. In fact recently (thankfully before I aquired my new car), I was at a breakfast meeting. I parked my car, and was still getting my stuff together when an older gentleman parked beside me. He got out and WHAM, hit my car with his door. I was sitting there and HE SAID NOTHING!!!!!

There was no damage, but still. :furious: Heaven help anyone who does it to my new Caddy. ;) I park far, far away to help my odds.

My last car was full of door dings. Some of them were so bad that paint from the other car was visable. A few even happened in my parking lot at work- the ding wasn't there when I got out of the car in the morning but was there in the afternoon. :sad2: Really ticks me off when I try very hard to get in the middle of a parking space then the person next to be pulls way over to my side.

Have had the new one for less than a month and haven't had a ding yet but I'm sure it will be soon. :sad2:

Somebody put a dent into the door of my SKY last Saturday at the grocery store. It's got 2800 miles on it. I'm heartbroken. And by the place they hit it, it HAD to have been done by some schmuck in a pickup or SUV.

I've got a guy coming today to try to pull the dent out, fortunately the paint isn't blemished.

Uggh... I understand that accidents happen, but some people need to be more careful!

Exactly! I have had some JERK do this to my car and it did leave damage. I called the cops, filed a report and the other guys insurance had to pay for my car to be fixed.

Some people have NO consideration for others. :sad2:

Drives me crazy! I don't know why people can't just be more considerate. I manage to get in and out of my car on a regular basis without damaging other people's property, how hard is it? :furious:

Yes, I hate that! I've got paint scrapes on the driver's side door (one of which is mysteriously shaped exactly like the corner of a door :sad2: ), but the worst is a series of dings on the hood of my car, like some moron dropped something on it! GRRRRRRR.

I always park ridiculously far away from everyone else, and in the parking lot of my apartment complex, I park on the very end of a row so that people can only park on one side of me. That side is the one covered in dings.

Don't you hate it when you park at the very end of the parking lot away from every other car then someone decides to park right next to you when there are dozens of other open spaces??????

I hate it! I have managed for years to get into and out of cars without damaging someone elses property. I don't understand how others cannot do this. I just picked up my new car Friday. I have been parking far away from others in hopes to keep it dent free.

I remember in high school someone did this to me. I had a really old beat up car. A dent would have made it look nicer. ;) As I am standing behind my car waiting for the people next to me to get into their car, they SLAM open their door into my door. I mean really throw the door open right into my door, it made a loud clunk. They knew I was watching, but I didn't receive an apology. Gee thanks, jerk!

Yes, but what I think I hate even more is getting stuck behind someone who's verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry carefully backing into a parking spot at Wal-Mart or wherever, inching forward and backward 47 times to get it just right. What, are you planning on holding up the joint and figure you'll need a quick getaway? Sheesh.

The only thing that bugs me more is someone in my car who gets out the passenger side and does it. Especially if they don't drive themselves and have no idea of the value of a car. My friend first dropped mayo on the floor of my new car and then opened the door into another persons car TWICE!

I do wish people were more careful. I have to share a funny about this though.

While waiting for my kids to get out of school, I saw a guy in a huge shiny new pickup pull into a spot that was much too small for his truck and scrape the mirror of the vehicle next to him. I was shocked that he never even looked to see if he had damaged the other car! As I am sitting there debating what to do or say, the owners of the other car approach their vehicle and the young daughter FLINGS open her door--right into the shiny black truck! :lmao: Can you say KARMA?????

Two places that I've noticed it the worst are clubs (of course) and Churches! Blue hairs with their '72 Caddies that have doors that look like aircraft wings on hinges. You can park in BFE and the geriatric squad in their aircraft-carriers-on-wheels will hunt you down and park all around you.

You would think that DW Lauri's car would be in better shape considering she has a handicapped parking permit and usually there is plenty of room in those spaces, right? Wrong.

I can't tell you the number of times yahoos think that the striped area between 2 handicapped places is a legitimate parking spot even though it's only 3/4s the size of a parking space. And 9 times out of 10, since there is no handicapped sign in front of the lines, the people that pull in there don't even have permits. She's literally been stuck there by these idiots who pull into this small area and block the drivers door with their cars mere inches from her drivers door - what is she going to do, climb over the console from the passengers side? Hello you putz, there is a reason these people are parking in handicapped spaces!

The best was the elderly gentleman that tried to squeeze his big old Ford F-150 into that small area and did $500 in damage to the side of Lauri's car.
