We just got back from a cruise on Dream, and we decided to add a day @ Legoland at the end,,, soooo not impressed!
Luckily I found a BOGO offer on Mousesavers or I would have really been upset!
We so much prefer the Disney service and Legoland just didn't have it nor were there rides much of anything.
Unless you have a super Lego lover I would say pass,, I think my DD enjoyed the day but when we leave WDW we ALL enjoy our day!
At least we checked it off the list, LOL:sad2:

Wow. I think the moral here is to not compare every park to Disney!

Of course Legoland will be different. It's smaller.

Also sometimes as parents we don't look at things from the "me" perspective, we look at it through the eyes of our kids and if they left happy, then I'm happy.

Also to the OP did you check out their new water park? Looks pretty cool.

I always have to ask myself why people keep comparing parks to Disney, parks are different,I enjoy myself at just about every park out there.Obviously I know that the CM's at Busch Gardens in Tampa are not going to be as friendly as the ones in MK,doesn't mean I won't enjoy my day at Busch Gardens.Same thing with Legoland,I went in October right after it opened and I never saw the need to compare it with any Disney park,it's a different thing.I was super impressed with Legoland,I'm no Lego fan but I really enjoyed the park.If you didn't like it now as Legoland you should have visited it when it was Cypress Gardens Adventure park about 4-5 years ago, that was not a very good park experience at all,Merlin does a great job with their parks and Legoland Florida is no exception.

Don't be so hard on LEGOland and you really shouldn't tell people not to go.... we live about 15 minutes from there, and as much as I hate having extra people around it is still good for our locals, I will say however, that they really should have a better price, especially for polk county residents.
Both of my older kids got to take field trips there, for free, and they loved it, of course we could probably build our own LEGOland in our house, so that may have something to do with it!!! :rotfl:

I know it was smaller,,, so that part didn't bother me, it was the way they handled the rain delays and a few other things.
But mainly their price point is comparable to Disney,,$80 w tax, so you would think if they are charging that much then the experience would match up. We didn't think so.
Yes as a parent I put my child first and if shes happy yes I am happy too,, however at WDW there is something for all of us to love and while she has the best time, we each have our "thing" which is part of the Disney Magic.
The weather prohibited us from the water park part, I was worried about doing both in one day but it is very doable!

Like I said, if you get a deal, great, if you love Legos, great, if you have a day to kill, great,,,,,,

Now I see another reason why you may have not enjoyed your day at Legoland, even Disney can be miserable in the rain, add heat and humidity it's always going to make for a worse experience. For example I went on October 24th last year and it was the first day of the year with cool crisp weather and not a cloud in the sky with small crowds.I will however agree that the prices Legoland charges are a bit high and I'm not sure I like the way the waterpark works, for example I know Legoland has pretty short hours and when I went I was able to get everything in on a day with light crowds, knowing that how am I going to fit in a waterpark in the same day and be able to do everything in both parks.I know it's not a big waterpark but you're like at almost $100 to get into the park and waterpark for the day.Look at the AP's and the waterparks and more options at Disney which are great deals,$100 for an AP for both TL and BB or $60 something for the after 2pm waterpark pass for both waterparks. In comparison the Legoland waterpark admission and requirement of using it the same day is a bit unusual.I'm sure the waterpark will make some families add a day to their Legoland stat especially since they plan to add a hotel as well as upgrading their Legoland AP's to premium which will include the waterpark which will probably be good to locals with small kids who don't need the bigger Disney or Sea World waterparks.
