Have always wanted to start a thread like that!

Anyway, at my DD's basketball game, you know those stamp things they stamp your hand when you pay:confused3  I started thinking about how many hands had been stamped:scared1: with that thing:sad2: How healthy can that be??:confused3

and think where some of them hands have been

How about money? Think about how many hands have touched it, where it has dropped, what mouth it has been(yes some people hold money in their mouth). We all touch it and don't even think twice about it. How many people wash their hands right after they touch money? it's nice to have alot of it, but it's really nasty if you think about it.

Yesterday there was a thread about sitting on toilet seats. I am sorry, i just can't do it in a public place. It is way too personal to put my butt where others have. It's so hard to stop my children, especially since they are in school, but for me, i just can't,

Well it's only the back of their hands. There was a thread yesterday about people sitting on toilet seats. I would rather have my hand stamped with that thing than sit on a toilet seat that hundreds of others have sat on.

if ya think about it though, butt cheeks dont really get many germs, unless your naked and everyone around you is grabing them :rotfl2:

When we were under drinking age and knew someone with the hand stamp to get into the over 21 section of the club, we'd lick our hand and hold it on their stamp. Usually transferred enough to get us in!

I usually say "I don't need to get my hand stamped if I won't be leaving the gym before the game's over, do I?" I've always been told that as long as I won't be leaving and re-entering, it's not necessary to have my hand stamped.

Believe me, after reading this thread, I won't be in any rush to have my hand (or any other part of my body) stamped!:)

I think I missed the cutoff by 2 years. We were still able to go into NY and drink because it was still 19 there for awhile.

Yup, just another helpful DIS tip!

I don't think the stamp would have any more germs than a handrail or door handle. I always use hand wipes right before I eat when I'm in the parks. Hopefully that gets rid of most of the germs.

Just let the stamp dry and use purell.
