For spring break (fourth week of March, 2004) we have a week reserved in a beautiful new two-bedroom unit in Gatlinburg. Always have fun in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, and this a wonderful resort and a great location. So what is the problem? I am absolutely dying to go back to Ft. Wilderness to camp! I have tried to get myself excited anticipating the trip to the Smokies, but I am not there yet.
We really shouldn't cancel and rebook the Gatlinburg unit because it is fairly difficult to book anyway, and there is a fee for rebooking to boot. My husband can't really take this full week, another full week for our cruise later in 2004 AND another week to take the new travel trailer (that we've had eight months and only been able to use twice!) to Ft. Wilderness. I have thought seriously about advertising the reservation for sale, as we have rented DVC points very successfully but I think Disney's reputation, luck and this board helped a lot in those deals. I think most other timeshare condos are trickier to rent unless people are familiar with the particular resort and area.
Sorry, this is absolutely nothing to complain about, but there you have it. I would trade the kingsize bed and jacuzzi for trailer bed and a golf cart in a heart beat. It is just hard to even come to the camping board when I can't camp at FW for 18 months or so. Okay, whine mode off. Thanks for listening!
