Don't slam me for this question...

So the DH goes with my DD to pick up lunch to bring on the plane. She get's the smelliest chinese food! I just pretended not to know the people across the aisle.

When I was a kid my mom and I flew to the Chicago suburbs to visit family. One of moms friends had requested that she bring some White Castle back for them since we didn't have them here and she missed them. Well mom put them in her carryon bag inside the paper bag which was inside 2 Ziploc bags and then wrapped in 3 grocery/plastic bags. It is about a 4 hour flight from Chicago to Vegas and by the time we landed the whole plane smelled like grease and onions and to this day I can't even think about White Castle without getting a little queasy.
So as others have said try to avoid smelly food on the plane and everyone on the flight will be happier for it. Personally I like to bring those little 100 calorie packs of cookies and crackers as they satisfy a salty or sweet craving and are easy to deal with. If I am flying around a meal time I try to eat in the airport before getting on the plane.

Don't feel bad, I had no idea either! We got on our plane going to vegas and people had all sorts of crap, including pops and drinks!!!! I'm assuming since we all went through security that you could buy from machines or the stores and carry it on. People had fast food on the plane too.

This is worse, I thought you had to pay for pop since I heard how tight the airlines were getting. They asked me if I wanted a pop and me and my hubby were like, no thanks, then the people next to us got some and they didn't have to pay! We felt like such morons! :rolleyes1

Hehe, don't feel bad, I flew a new (to me) airline this past weekend (AirTran), wasn't paying close enough attention on my first leg of the flight and thought they said the drinks were $2, so I did the same thing you did! Doh! Then I read the magazine and it said they were complimentary. Oh well.

Lasagna and potato salad are not liquids.

You can bring a sandwich with mustard through security, but you cannot bring a jar of mustard. Same difference.

I guess it's like lip gloss is a liquid when it's in your purse, but not when it's on your lips :rotfl: I guess I just assumed that if sauce/mayonnaise/mustard are liquids when in their normal forms, when you mix them with solid food like pasta/potatoes/bread, they stay liquids. :confused3 Too many rules! :snooty:

Putting the condiments on your sandwich makes for a soggy sandwich. Just put packets of mustard/ketchup/mayo etc in your ziplock baggie. Subway (at least the airport locations) will give you packets of their dressing if you ask.
