Don't shoot me, not happy!

Amberlee- I agree with you. The West Coast does deserve some Disney Magic, but not at the expense of Fla. Cruises. They should have found a way to do both. On DCL under 2005 summer 7 day Carribean it still say TBA. I'm waiting to see what they will post there now.

I know Disney is a business, but the ships are full out of Florida especially in the summer how are they going to make more money? I also never said I wanted the Magic to stay where it is to make the East Coast people happy, just that I was unhappy because I didn't think we would be able to cruise in 05. IMO this is a test for the 3rd or 4th ship to see if the market is there, sort of prove to investors or whoever that the market is there. Wow we all choice where we live, didn't know we were back to the civil war this time between the east and the west with so much defensive comeback, next time I'll keep my feeling(which said nothing about where people lived) and ONLY THAT I WAS UNHAPPY ABOUT THE TIMING!

I hope I did not offend you as well in any of my posts. That was not my intent. I agree the timing was bad for you but was good for a lot of other people. Nobody - either on the West coast or the East coast will be completely happy until DCL gets more ships. I would also love to do a Disney ALaska or Hawaii cruise as well. Sorry it messed up your plans. - Mike

I can see how some people may be disappointed, especially those that have never cruised before and were planning on celebrating a special occasion, but the ship will be on the west coast for one summer. It is not permanent. I am from the east coast and even though I have been cruising every summer for the past couple of years, I feel that I am lucky to do that. Even though I will not be able to go next year and I will be disappointed, I will find something else to do. I am willing to give up a summer so that others on the west coast area able to enjoy the "magic."

Another alternative to the 7 day cruise is the 3 or 4 day combined with a stay at Vero Beach. My husband and I did that last year and we really enjoyed it.

Like someone else said, there are other cruise lines. We're going on our first Disney cruise (a 4 night Wonder) this June so I can't really comment on the Disney cruises, but we have been on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity and both lines were wonderful. We went on 2 caribbean cruises (one Celebrity and one RC) and an Alaskan cruise (Celebrity) and the ships were beautiful and had plenty of amenities and activities. I know Disney is nice, but why not try one of the others if you've just gotta cruise in the Caribbean next summer.

Talk about risking flames, but have you thought about other cruise lines? Maybe 2005 can be the summer you tried Carnival, RCL, etc. Or if you only want to do Disney you can have a nice week at WDW.

Robin...I agree totally. We always say we want to try another line, especially out of NY, but then as the saying goes, you know what you got, you don't know what you are going to get, so we stay with DCL. So with the Magic going to California, I have to say I'm quite thrilled, because now I WILL try another line next summer out of NY.

Now which one should I try out of NY...
The Voyager Western route, Jamaica Grand Cayman etc.,
The Carnival Miracle (brand new ship) going to the Bahamas and Port Canaveral,
The Carnival Legend sailing to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and Tortola,
or the Norwegian Dawn also sailing to Port Canaveral and the Bahamas and Miami.

Anyone want to try a new line with me.

Joanna

Nobody wants advice, but here is some anyway.

The reason we took a DCL cruise the first time was because I wanted to go to St Thomas and St John to stay at Maho Bay. airfare from Colorado to there was obscene, but would be cheaper for East Coasters. How about a few days at WDW then go here? Markey?

And here is a honeymoon cruise to DIE FOR, ta heck with WDW or DCL. Amberle3, WDW wedding then jet to Polynesia, who needs the Poly?

All in fun,

Oh yeah, a Radisson cruise. Maybe if we skip the wedding and get married at the court house THEN we could afford a Radisson cruise!

Actually Polynesia, Hawaii etc just have no interest for me. Quite honestly I hate hot weather. I won't be outside much at all on the DCL cruise.

And (I'm going to have to put this in a sig) the wedding is in Vegas next Juy, we're then visiting family in the Anaheim area (Mickey counts as family doesn't he?) and will be there for the 17th, a few days back at home and then we're off to Florida for the cruise and then WDW.

And then, I'll need a rest!

Hey we live in Iowa!!!! Florida, California same distance apart. same amount for plane tickets. But the water is not nearly as beautiful in CA as Fl. Sorry!!
:wave2:

I can understand many people being disappointed the Magic is coming out west but you should really put yourselves in the shoes of Disney and the people that live out west.

It's not practical for Disney to build a new ship so that one can be out west without temporarily losing one in Florida. That's an expensive way to see if this idea will float (pun intended).

This is also a good way to get more people to the Los Angeles area to build interest in the Disney cruise and hopefully build up attendance at DCA.

I agree it could be timed better for folks planning summer trips to Florida but moving the Magic to CA in the middle of winter won't be a practical way to test the waters (another pun).

Finally, it's not like you don't still have one ship there! :)

Yes, there are many lines sailing across the Caribbean ...
We had some VERY GOOD experiences with RCCL ....

........ But that's just something else, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from a Disney cruise.
In my opinion you get good food, very exciting ports of call and so-and-so entertainment .... if you are a Disney fan and have ALREADY been on a Disney cruise , maybe you can't find THAT MAGIC, that caring service, those wonderful castmembers... nor that amazing entertainment Disney offers !!!

We were lucky enough to have RCCL first and afterwards Disney cruises ... we won't go back to RCCL anyway !!!
We would no more enjoy those RCCL ships ...... but maybe we are CRAZY about all Disney stuff !!!:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earseek: :earsgirl: :earsboy: ::yes::
