I'll be off all day to our annual family reunion at the Grand Commons in Newcastle NH. Should be a beautiful day to be seaside. My dad's side of the family is a very fun, close group.
Check-in with everyone later tonight or tomorrow.
I'm sure it's in here somewhere but I want to make sure I'm getting the correct info.
The Club Info post shows that the YC CL opens at 7:00 a.m. We tend to be up and out earlier than that. Is there any food (for example, bagels and cream cheese, OJ, etc.) out earlier than that?
Thanks!
I saw a post saying that a family got a cot instead of a day bed in a YC CL room.
I thought that -- for rooms other than suites -- any family of 5 always got two queens and day bed. Is that not the case?
When is your trip?
As others have stated, the lounge itself is always open, except when they are doing the prep work for the next food service offering.
I spent many wee morning hours stopping at the lounge before a quiet resort stroll with my camera- unfortunately, I didn't notice what beverages were out either in the dispensers or cooler. I only have eyes for coffee!
There were some of the light afternoon snacks in cannisters- the tropical trail mix is quite good for an early morning energy boost. Can't remember if the Swedish fish or pretzels were out.
A little off-topic rant- 2 years ago we stayed club level at the Hard Rock in Universal. Lounge started serving food at 7 am, the same time the Wizarding World opened to resort guests. We didn't realize that until AFTER we had booked.
You also received good information about the daybeds. My
understanding is that families of 5 (with all members over age 3) have
priority for a room with a daybed. Say a family of 4 has requested a daybed, and you haven't. You should still get that room first.
However, if there are no rooms with a daybed available when you check in, a rollaway cot will be provided. There is no charge to you. Even a smaller family can request a rollaway during their stay without charge. Sometimes housekeeping gives incorrect info about this.
They usually give day beds to families of five, but not always. We have stayed at the BC when we had five and got the cot once. The other four times we got the daybed.
Sadly, when I called Drc this morning I found that there were rooms available at the poly. I asked my kids what they wanted to do and they said either place was fine. I mulled it over and Dh really had his heart set on poly and he works hard all year for us to take this wonderful trip. So I make the switch, pay the difference and tell the kids. Ds13 is now mad at me for switching. I just can't win. So I guess I need to be removed from bog list. :-(. It's been nice planning with all of you and hearing all of your reports.
Thanks for letting us know. Have a fantastic trip!
Hello All! My family and I arrive at the Beach Club in two days! We are so excited. It will be our fist stay at a deluxe resort. We have always considered the Caribbean Beach Resort our "home" away from home. I couldn't pass up a deal I got for this year to stay at the Beach Club though. I just had a quick question in regards to the refillable mugs. Has the RFID program been fully implemented at the Beach Club yet or are they still using the old mugs? I heard that the RFID machines have arrived but wasn't sure if they were up and running yet. Just curious as to what we should expect.
I'd also love to hear what other tips you might have for us while we are staying at the Beach Club. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for your time!

I'll add you as a late-breaking addition to the Be Our Guest list in Post 15.
I don't think the RFID mugs will be available during your stay.
As far as tips, if you have time read through Pages 1 and 2 of this thread. In my opinion, one of the more helpful hints is the "Super Secret Entrance/Exit EPCOT entrance to the BC" This is described in a couple of places including the FAQ- Post 13.
HelenParr and Melanieri Thanks for the responses...
So the lounge does close for a time to prepare for the next offering..but you can still get drinks...

Does it stay open after the evening desserts are finished just for lounging??

I not only want my beverages..I want to lounge in the lounge too...LOL...
Yes, you can lounge in the lounge late. There's just no food (but sometimes they do leave some pretzels and stuff out). We've gone to the lounge in the wee hours to spread out, or read a book without bothering travel mates. And the previous coffee/espresso Nescafe machine was always on -- not sure with switch to Joffrey's if that will change. I hope they have a similar one. Unlimited espresso at 2am can be awesome.
Yes, the doors are open. I was there a couple of mornings around 4:30 or 5.
In Toronto airport! Waiting 2+ more hours to board our flight. All hands tired but super-excited!!! They know their friends will be there tomorrow and are so excited to surprise their friends tomorrow. They know they are going, and told our kids, so no chance of the double lobby surprise. I'm actually relieved - it's so exhausting keeping these secrets! LOL
I was a bad girl today.
A bad,
BAD girl!!
Buzzy the Fly and I peer pressured someone into extending her December trip.
She's playing hooky from work.
I am sitting in the corner right now on time out but I'm sneaking on my tablet and searching for ADR possibilities.
I have NO remorse!
(is that wrong??)
