I know I should know more about this than I do by now, but is there a chance we will get magic bands for our trip in September? When would I find out? I do not have all of my tickets linked on MDE b/c some are older, paper, complimentary tickets...that will probably prevent me from getting them, right? Maybe at check in when we get there?? Thanks!

Hi! We check in In 13 days. Friday I received an email from Disney asking us to participate in the test. A couple hours later UPS showed up with a letter from Disney. Asking us to participate. I filled everything out Saturday and received our bands today. One of my friends arrives next week and got her letter the same day as I did. So, I'd say, if you're chosen; it'll be about 2 weeks out before you hear anything. :) HTH

ETA- we linked our APs after the letter came. So tickets weren't an issue.

The testing is based solely on check in date and resort chosen to participate according to the letter. Nothing to do with tickets. I got my letter today, 17 days from check in. Just like it's been reported on the boards. No UPS letter, just an email. I had already discovered the Magic Bands in my MDE account and customized them, I already received them via UPS and already booked my FP+ 2 weeks ago. Keep checking your MDE account for something if you are staying at a participating resort.

Thanks so much for answering my question, DIS-OH and natebenma!

Also, does anyone have a tip of a good place to watch fireworks in order to make a quick exit back to BC but still have a decent view? We only ever saw illuminations once, like 7 years ago. I'd like to see it but hopefully not get caught there forever with the crowds.

Anybody who's checked in the past couple days at YC? Update on the fridges? I arrive next thurs. And want to place a garden grocer order. Thanks. :)

Our trip later this month is our first time to YC, so I don't know exactly how the entrance to SAB works, but I've read that every person in your party has to have their KTTW card to get in. Are they able to let you in with the Magicband instead now that the test has started, does anyone know? Thanks :)

I'm on my iPad so I can't tell I'd anyone has answered this. I was told by IPO that you still needed your KTTW card for SAB entrance even if you have a Magic Band.

Edited to say that I read the other posts and apparently I got bad intel from IPO! LOL

Thanks, Brenda!!!

Have you been invited to play with MagicBands for the YC portion of your trip?

Yep, sure did! We got different colors for the different resorts so we don't confuse them!! Since AKL is also part of the test we have a set for that stay as well. I was able to do the FP+ as well so we'll see how that works out.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for January.

Question about refurbishment was addressed in subsequent posts.

:goodvibes

No worries! I'll make the change!

:goodvibes

Will do!

:woohoo:

We will miss you, but sounds like a responsible move. I'll indicate the change on the BOG

:)

:welcome:

I didn't see you on the Be Our Guest list so I will add you for August.

:yay:

Will miss you, too, but I'm sure you will have a fantastic stay at the Poly. Maybe if you bring along a copy of the Sunken Treasure recipe they can make one for you to enjoy on the beach.

I'll change your listing.

:thumbsup2

As others have responded, the ME bus does typically share with other resorts and you should plan on 90 minutes from touchdown to arrival in the BC lobby.

:goodvibes

We are arriving next Wednesday for our first stay at the Yacht club - woohoo! Is there any way possible to get one of those BOG emails???

In case no one else has answered yet (or has had smooth sailing)...

Right now, we're getting in with our bands but bringing our KTTW in case. They are scanning everyone's bands, but... They're having reception problems at one entrance (Beaches and Cream if I remember right) and just let my older son and me in the other day (thank goodness, because DH was already inside with the cards and my cell phone!). Today my, DH's, and my older son's bands all worked just fine but my younger son's didn't. They waved him right in -- I figure they didn't think we'd pick up a stray 8 year old to smuggle into SAB. :) While they were very strict about cards last time we were here I think they're trying to be understanding of issues too.

Edited to add that I should have read the last 5 pages of posts first! :)

We watched from England tonight and were back in our YC room by about 9:30! :)

We usually try to watch from the bridge between England and France. It is very quick to get back to the BC from there. :)

The Tikiman posted on his FB page today that "Just wanted everyone to know that was worried about refrigerators that I got a report from Disney that they completed refrigerator replacement at the Polynesian, Boardwalk, Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club and Animal Kingdom Lodge."

Morning reading and the fact that someone takes your drink order at SAB caught my eye...For Real???? Like, I don't need to walk up to the bar for a drinkie??? Whoa.

WLake re: 2MBs for your son...makes me happy we got 2 sets then! How has the rest of the week been going for this with you guys?

I just realized this morning that yesterday the day we depart was on the 10 day forecast!!!! Its time to pack:banana::banana:

Will be doing the final WDW shopping prep this afternoon...getting all 3 kiddos sneakers-hey they'll need them for school too right?

So how do I post a pic from an iPhone?

I loved seeing that show up on our forecast too! You might want to tell them at check in that you have two sets. Only one of them might be activated, and you'd hate to have the wrong set in the parks! Having two bands is evidently unheard of -- we spent the day explaining the entire situation to various IT type CMs who are everywhere at park entrances and other random spots. The "regular" CMs asked but didn't seem to care. My son has dressed up the grey one in a band cover and is loving explaining everything, so we're going with it.

KTTW cards with RIFD seem to be able to handle SAB just fine

And HubbDave handled his first Sunken Treasure tonight. That drink turned several heads at the bar and pool

I had 3 different people ask about it. Bartended called it Drunken Treasure. DS enjoyed a chocolate shake from BnC

Seaworld day today. Fun
Epcot day incoming. Funner

I saw that. I remember reading on this thread a few days back that some of the YC has been completed......not sure how much exactly

Between packing and taking care of DD who is teething and having bad allergies, my brain is malfunctioning :sad1: I just have a quick question. When we arrive at the YC (CL), will the greeters have someone bring us upstairs or do we wait downstairs until they have our room ready (not sure how the CL check in works)? Or should I just park the car and check in first, then bring DS upstairs if the room is ready? First time we are staying deluxe. I hope I am making sense, just so exhausted and trying to keep this a surprise for DS

Help!! We are BC lovers, but for our stay there is only pool view available, and DH doesn't want to spend the extra $ for view, so we chose garden view at YC.
My concern is that we will not have the convenience to Marketplace.
We like to grab breakfast here or even dinner sometimes when we are on the go. With 4 kids, there have also been a handful of times where one of us has had to run downstairs to grab something. Is it a big inconvenience being at the YC and further away from the Marketplace??

I can attest that if your room is far from the elevator, it can be a big inconvenience. :lmao:
We visited the Marketplace twice in our 6 night stay. Once for Aleve for my aching feet. Might not bother the kids, though?

So is there a special request I can make in the garden view room category? Room closest to BC??
