Hi, everyone. My family and I returned from BCV on July 28 and we are already anticipating another visit. However, I don't think we'll be able to return until Food & Wine 2014. How far in advance can you reserve a villa? The web page is showing no availability right now, but I am thinking that is because I am too early, not too late. Am I correct? Also, BCV typically sell out during F&W? Any advice about how to reserve a villa as far in advance as possible would be very helpful. Thanks!

We have arrived many times at the BC around 1pm or 2pm. It has often been a challenge to get food fast enough since we are starving by then. B&C is usually an hour wait. Hurricane Hanna's can be busy, too, and unless you have already changed into swimming suits, it can be really hot to sit out there in street clothes. We have found the Marketplace to be a little limited and unappealing, too. So our tradition has been to run into Epcot for lunch. The place we are most likely to go to is the food court at Sunshine Seasons. It has good variety and is quick, except for the walk, and air conditioned.

We have also grabbed something at the airport before hitting the Magical Express if we are really hungry. It takes almost two hours from the time you walk off the plane until you are checked into the resort and ready to search for food when taking the ME.

A nice table service option would be the Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. They have a nice lunch menu and usually aren't crowded. :)

We have a private transfer from the airport, so a driver will be waiting for us at baggage claim, he is usually there and we are at the resort within 45 minutes of landing, at least the 2 previous trips we were. We are landing at 12:15pm. I'm thinking if our room is ready, we can change and go to the pool and HH.

ESPN sounds like a good option too if it's a short walk. It's been 15 years since I've set foot on the Boardwalk.

Yes, we will! We arrive on 8/26. I have a daughter who is 12 (though she looks about 10, tops) and a son who is 7.

We have the same exact arrival day plans...SAB arrival afternoon and Epcot for dinner. Our first full park day will be 8/27 at MK.

They can't wait and neither can I! :yay:

We arrive 8/23 and have a son who is 7 as well. My older DS is 10. We'll be at MK 8/27 as well if the plans hold. :thumbsup2

Today is our anniversary (we had a Disneymoon) and you can no longer note a celebration? I'd like a pin :rotfl:

And Teena's and others. Happy anniversary! How many of us were told it is way too hot to have a wedding in August! We are planning on wearing the anniversary pins all trip long, we're celebrating it with the trip! First time wearing the pins, but gonna try to enjoy it as much as possible!

I remember in one thread someone was told "as long as your Birthday was 6 months ago, or coming up within the next 6 months, you're in perfect timing to celebrate it" or something really encouraging and positive like that.

I've heard that the bookings for villas don't get released until 7 months before check in date. They are held back for the vacation club members.

Thanks Wood Nymph! That makes perfect sense since it wouldn't be fair for us to be able to book before DVC owners.

Couchy: try to relax so you can heal faster. I don't like to sit still either and I paid the price for it :confused3 I had to go back to the hospital and I was not happy at all. Wishing you a speedy recovery and I will make sure that my family has a "Sunken Treasure" for you :)

Dee: Thank you for the movie list. The kids love all those movies :thumbsup2

Teena: Sorry I am late, but Happy Anniversary :cheer2:

5 more days until we arrive to the YC! :cool1:

I know I should know more about this than I do by now, but is there a chance we will get magic bands for our trip in September? When would I find out? I do not have all of my tickets linked on MDE b/c some are older, paper, complimentary tickets...that will probably prevent me from getting them, right? Maybe at check in when we get there?? Thanks!

We are arriving around 2 pm also. My kids will want to visit the pool ASAP, they always do. So, I usually end up picking up something at the poolside place (in this case Hurricane Hannah's) or something from the quick service (Marketplace) which I then carry over to eat by/near the pool area.

If our flight runs late, I may be a bad Mommy and feed them fast food picked up at the airport on our way to the DME bus.

There is no such thing as a bad Mommy on vacation, it's just picking the less healthy, more expedient option! :goodvibes

Embarrassing question- does anyone know if the Health Center has a scale? Like, as in, a scale to weigh myself? I looked at pics and did not see one. I know this sounds really neurotic. I have been losing weight all summer (20 lbs so far) and since we will be at Disney for ten days I want to be sure I maintain. I just think I would feel better if I could hop on a scale towards the middle of my trip just to make sure I am not doing anything to ruin all of my hard work.

We've been thinking a lot about our first day as well. Well, in Dec., first day will really be more like first night. Our plane lands at 8, so optimistically, I'm hoping to be at YC by 9:30. Currently, our plan is quick food at Crew's Cup, and then a nightcap at Ale and Compass. Sigh, I can see myself gazing at that Christmas tree and sipping a martini now.....

Nightcap watching the Christmas tree. Ahh. So nice. Makes me want to book a December trip!!

Just wanted to say that room service offers some really nice options for those who are hungry and tired after a long travel day. We have used them a few times and never waited too long :)
Must admit that Scott your plans have me daydreaming of future trips :santa:

I was there in July...there were scales in the locker room, in the area with the lockers.

Morning reading and the fact that someone takes your drink order at SAB caught my eye...For Real???? Like, I don't need to walk up to the bar for a drinkie??? Whoa.

WLake re: 2MBs for your son...makes me happy we got 2 sets then! How has the rest of the week been going for this with you guys?

I just realized this morning that yesterday the day we depart was on the 10 day forecast!!!! Its time to pack:banana::banana:

Will be doing the final WDW shopping prep this afternoon...getting all 3 kiddos sneakers-hey they'll need them for school too right?

So how do I post a pic from an iPhone?

Whoop!!! :-)

And yes, they will definitely need sneaks for school. Lol

Good morning! Yes, someone takes your drink/food order at your lounge chair or table. Then, it's all magically delivered to you. You'll find once you order, they will ALWAYS return, frequently, to ask if you would like another. Quite nice.

I can't wait for this!!!!

Just found this thread! :) So excited as we leave in 20 days! So much to do until then.

We are staying at the Beach Club Villas. I don't believe they are testing the Magic Bands there, right? Can I still make Fast Pass + reservations??? I don't see it available on my Disney Experience but we haven't purchased tickets yet.

Yeah! Welcome!!!

Stiff and sore... had a few grumpy moments yesterday. I am a go go go type person so this is strange to sit and do nothing. Not allowed to drive for 2-3 weeks:scared1: So much to do though. On the phone with the guys insurance company. Did you know : If you get hit by a car while walking or riding a bike it is considered a car accident, therefore the pedestrian's health insurance will not pay any bills, it all has to go through the car insurance. This is all fine and good but man is it a pain.

Looks like the guy is going to be charged with texting while driving that caused bodily injury... it will be either a B or C misdemeanor.

Wow. So glad you are on the mend.

It's our second to last day and a planned pool day, and DS wakes up with strep. They are on their way to CVS Minute Clinic( DH is ok with missing a little pool time). My son was so dissapointed!

Oh no. Hopefully a speedy recovery!

Do you mean for testing? You dont need to have tickets to be selected and to get your magic bands.
I'm not sure if they started notifying people for testing in sept. I think the general rule has been about 2-3 weeks before arrival so people would probably start being notified in the next week.

I dont believe it will be ready to go live to the general public this soon.

Catching up after a tough day at the beach ;)

So we ended up staying with the Poly for our upcoming trip, but I am tossing around the idea of a split stay between WL and BC next year!!! I love the Poly but I'm ready to venture out and try a new resort!!

Sent from my Galaxy SII

Enjoy your trip and let us know if there is anything we can do to sway you to keep your plans for a future split stay.

;)

I am also looking for ideas for lunch on arrivals days, by the time we get there we'll be starving and it'll be after 1pm for sure, closer to 2pm probably. Was hoping for B&C but we'll be too hungry to wait so that's dependent on how crowded it is. I like the menu of the Crew Cup lounge as well and would like to just pop in there, but don't see any kids choices which makes sense since it's a lounge, but does anyone know if they can still get kid's meals there? Or would we need to go to the marketplace and get something and could we bring it over?

Bunches of people have chimed in with good ideas. I don't know if Crews Cup has kids options, but if it doesn't, I would be comfortable bringing something in.

Hurricane Hanna's may be your best bet, but it doesn't hurt to check B&C first.

:thumbsup2

Hi Dee & friends! Some folks may remember me. I come in & out of this thread periodically. After a trip ends & before I know when the next one will be, I have to stay away, so the post Disney Blues don't get too bad. But I usually return once I am in planning mode for the next trip.

So I just booked our June 2014 BCV stay. :). We are planning to be at BCV from 6/22/14 to 6/29/14. We can celebrate birthdays for the whole trip, my older son's birthday is 6/19 & my twins' birthday is 7/2 -- the week between birthdays means we can celebrate all week long, right? ;)

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards App, please excuse any typos or autocorrects!

:welcome: back!!!

I am thrilled to add you back to the Be Our Guest list for your birthday celebrations.

:cool1:

How do I word in a request with on line check in "any floor but 1st level'? I don't want to say upper level b/c then it would probably limit me to the top floor?

Seriously cannot wait for this vacation!!! Getting down to the nitty gritty, Hubby is off either tommorow or Thursday and is doing his last minute things, cleaning out the car, and taking it over to get checked out/oil change. Sunday he is off and we plan on packing.

I can't wait.

Today is our anniversary (we had a Disneymoon) and you can no longer note a celebration? I'd like a pin :rotfl:

If you are doing online checkin then the "upper floor" request is probably the way to go. You won't get the top floor since that is all concierge. You should have "Not first floor, please" noted on your reservation by calling in to the Central Reservation Office.

:)

We have had no word yet on Magic Band testing at any of the BC/YC/BCV resorts in September.

You beat me to it! I was going to say I was pretty sure I saw scales in the locker room when I was changing out of my swim suit.
