I keep trying to decide if my stomach is excited with butterflies.....or sick with fear!!!!

I just let my 13 year old DS walk to the bus by himself this morning for school so I can only imagine. Lol

I received Mickey mail this week telling me that my rate that I had booked for room only in 2014 had been adjusted DOWN!! In all my years of booking ahead for the next year the rates have always been adjusted UP when the rates for that year came out. It wasn't a great deal of money but still, I was surprised!!

Ok, so it wasn't a fluke. DP is home around 4:30....I'll have some wine ready and start working on him to just book now and worry about paying for it later!

Well that would be nice?!?! Doesn't sound right though.

I think it is. The only thing I can think is that they've jacked up ticket and DP prices, so they could afford to take a small percentage off the room rates.

What is going on the week of 8/18 at the BC/YC? Is there a large convention going on? It appears that most rooms are booked solid or at least that's what my DD is telling me. We're going a week later than last year & thought it would be less busy but now I'm wondering. Any one know?

For those more experienced staying at the YC/BC area, is there a walkway behind the Swan to get to Fantasia Gardens MiniGolf? From the picture there is a road between the two but I cannot tell if it is a highway that cannot be crossed on foot. It appears there is something to the left of Fantasia Gardens that crosses this road. We are staying at BCV for the first time in October and thought we might try this one afternoon. TIA for your help.

It's not a highway, it's just a road. I don't remember if there is a sidewalk but I definitely remember walking there. We use to use those free golf vouchers all the time years ago. It is very close to the Swan, even closer than it appears on this map.

As Erika said it is good walkway. You just walk past the big pool and there is a pedestrian crosswalk over to the golf courses. Very easy.

Not sure if this is the cause, but we booked BC under a travel agent deal that was offering rooms at either BC or YC in August (plus some other resorts). I think a lot of people have booked BC/YC in August using that particular deal. That may be a contributing factor.

Not sure...we are there the 14/15 and then moving to ssr

"An Agency" booked a huge block of rooms off for a discount. I spoke with mine yesterday to ask about her thoughts on crowd levels. She stated that BC/YC is booked solid because of them but its only those 2 resorts. So it shouldn't affect the parks. so pretty much seats at SAB will be few and far between

HI TEENA!!! So happy to hear your report!!! Have you tried the beach at 10th Street on the bay side? If you're interested, turn right out of the house. When you get to the bay, turn left (away from the Fun Zone, Ferry, etc.) and keep following the path until you get to the Yacht Club. Take a right and keep following that road until you get to 10th Street. It's the bay, not the ocean, but we swam there lots when the boys were tiny.

Hope you had a great walk to Balboa Island - just love it there!!! Enjoy!

Then I shouldn't notice a difference from last August...finding seats at SAB then was insane

I'm staying BCV's the fridge is there actually it's a little bigger than a fridge in a regular hotel room. I've never stayed here before so not sure if they've changed them. Hth!

I just called the BC regarding the fridges. The very nice CM said they Were going to be replaced and she didn't know exactly how long that was going to take.
Possibly a few months

I just read on this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3138895 that refrigerators will be removed and replaced at the resorts. It will take 4 months to fully replace them.

The thread says that it won't effect AoA or ASMu suites. Someone also wrote that they called POR and they will be fully replaced by July 31.

Has anyone heard about BC replacement or know the BC phone number to call and find out?

Maybe somebody could start a YC/BC fridge swap? I would think somebody who is driving there or has a rental car could get someplace that sells small refrigerators.

That's what she told me. She said they just got the news today!!!
She put a request on my ressie but its first come first serve!!!

She tried to ring the stockroom for Marketpkace to ask if they sold styrofoam coolers but the line was busy!!!
