Marcimouse,

I just wanted to let you know that I was one of the people who recomended you on this board. I apologize for that. I purchased and received my pins from you in a timely manner and wanted to tell the others about the great deal I got. I have left you positive feedback and will purchase from you again. I understand that things happen and hope that others will cool off and realize the same thing. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I have read many of these posts, not all. I have to say my attention was grabbed when I saw marcimouse's name.

I would have been very panicy and upset had I been the buyer too. Except I want to share a story that involved Marci.

I have been BUYING  and collecting pins for years. Marci was one of the first people I bought pins from, when I lived in the midwest.

One pin I REALLY wanted was just a dinky red "D" to complete a set. That pin was HTF and not cheap on the secondary market, although it was originally a gwp at DL.

Being limited on funds I shopped for prices and Marci was the least expensive.
I bought that pin and others from her.
I received my pin packet in the mail.
No red "D"! :faint:
And again it is such a little pin, I searched through everything. Nada

Again, Marci was out of town. But her husband responded.
Long story, but what happened was Marci asked her DH to package and mail the pins she had laid out before her trip.
DH somehow missed the red "D" pin and threw it out.

I think that pin cost me $25. I was refunded the money.

I always thought well of Marci and her DH for that. They discussed what happened between them and admitted error on their part.
She could have told me -- Hey I know mailed that pin. Tough luck. Prove it. etc
I know other pin sellers (and traders) I have run into who would have done this.
She was out the pin and the money in the end. And I always wondered if her DH helped her again. ;) :jester:

I think if anyone was unhappy with her services, then they should just buy elsewhere. What is done is done and lessons learned.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone! :wave2:

It is nice to hear your side of it.. If nothing else just to know what happened.. Unfortunately, you have to look at it from the eyes of the buyer.. Would you appreciate purchasing an item, paying right then but then getting your merchandise until that length of time later?? Not me... Its one thing to put a note on the item that you are in the midst of vacationing and getting some help with your bids so please be patient.. But to just put your items on Ebay, take their money and then not follow thru is not fair to them..

When I buy on Ebay and pay promptly, I expect the seller to do the same.. They are not doing me a favor by selling me the item. When I sell on Ebay I expect payment to be prompt and I ship the same.. If I will be out for whatever reason I do not list my items on Ebay because that is not fair to that person to not ship promptly and be avl to correspond with them.. Ultimately it is up to the seller to ensure this goes smoothly..

By the way... I went on Ebay days ago and messaged you to ask you about shipping on an item that I was interested in and as of today still havent been contacted by you with an answer..

She may be within ebay's guideline of shipping within 30 days, but last time I checked, paypal requires a seller to ship within 7 days of receiving payment. I would contact paypal and file a dispute and when she can't prove they weren't shipped according to their policy, she will have to refund you.

Is the 7 days a requirement, or just a suggestion?
Ship in a timely manner. Ship items within 7 days of receiving payment.

I have had a few Ebay sellers really drag their feet, and have even filed a complaint with Ebay. I fully understand. I agree it is not unreasonable to expect shipment within 7 days. Even 7 days is pushing it I think.
I sell on Ebay very rarely. I have always shipped within hours, never even going to 24. As a buyer, I know how anxious I am to receive the item.
And I also would not sell knowing I would be out of town when the auction ends. That is just common sense. And hopefully through all this Marci has learned she cannot always rely on others for her responsibilities.

I see where the Paypal complaint has to be filed within 30 of the payment. And that is to recover funds from their Paypal account.
I went through that process a few years ago by a pin scammer where she and her DH scammed THOUSANDS of dollars by selling pins they did not have and did not ship.
Quite a mess: internet fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud, etc. They are/were in prison due to their dirty deeds.
From that experience I learned NEVER pay using Paypal directly from your checking account. There is no recourse. Debit card, better. Credit card, best.

It used to be a requirement, although it may have changed. I'll check around on the site later and see what I can find.

I wish I could say the same !!! I was really going to let this whole subject just fade into the backround, thinking maybe I was too harsh, things happen, bla bla, bla .... BUT today is day 22,,,, yep 22 days ago I paid for my pins ! According to marcimouse, she mailed out my pins last saturday or Monday, well if that were true, I believe I would have my pins by now, don't you think ??? Just confirms my distrust in the seller !

Yes..... I mailed out items on monday AND tuesday and every one of my buyers received their items

Well, when you receive your package, you will be able to see what the postmarked date is stamped on it. You will know when exactly it was mailed. Good luck! Keep us posted!

I hope yours come soon Pooh. I think they will. I ended up calling Marci on Tuesday (I think). She said that everything that was ordered is out. BTW she was really nice on the phone, and was very concerned about this situation.

Guess What!!!! I finally got my pins on Saturday. I purchased them on the 10th, supposedly they were shipped by First Class Mail on the 20th and I received them on the 27th. That is the slowest shipping I have ever received. I know that when you use the USPS shipping label program on-line, it prints out the date purchased on the label. A seller could take days before actually going and dropping it off at a postal box (if they don't have it picked up) I use this method frequently and I have never had it take over 3 days to get to it's destination - usually only 2 days.

To MarciMouse - I say shame on you - hope you have learned a lesson with this mess. Still haven't decided on my eBay feedback yet.

I hope that all of you that are receiving poor service (slow shipping, etc.) from sellers on ebay are leaving appropriate feedback. If you aren't, that's where the system is failing and people keep buying and having bad experiences because everyone is afraid to post about how the transaction really went.

I had a package take three months to go across just a few states. The buyer was a PowerSeller himself; as soon as he emailed me (like three weeks after I sent the package), I refunded his Paypal payment. When he got the torn-up package, he emailed me and made the payment again, which I appreciated greatly. In that same timeframe, another package (I'm talking padded envelopes, not boxes) took almost a month. And that wasn't during any Holiday mailing season.

Slow mail happens.

Slow mail is one thing, not responding to emails and sending one email saying a package is shipped when it actually isn't is another.

About feedback.....

I agree that you should leave appropriate feedback according to the service that you recieved. My fear is that I will get a negative feedback as retaliation. It seems like many sellers are holding feedback like a hostage!! I feel as soon as I pay for an item, I should get a positive feedback. I held up my end of the bargain....if they hold up their end, then they will get a positive!

I have only left one negative feedback and that was because this seller never contacted me for the shipping charges, so I never paid and I closed out the auction. This seller never sold again on ebay that I have found.

But, now I need some advice! I won an auction of an Aladdin DVD on 11/7 and paid for the item on 11/9. I waited and waited and then finally on 11/26 I sent an email (through ebay) to ask if she had sent it. She responded on 11/27 with this:

"Hi there, you should have received this by now? I am going to send a new one on monday morning, if the original should show up, just write across the package "REFUSED" and it will come back to me and won't cost you anything,
Thanks,God Bless, Becky"

So.... after I recieve this DVD (hopefully), what kind of feedback should I leave? She did respond quickly to my email.....but gosh....should it really take this long? And, I really don't believe the store of sending a new one. Why would anybody have two $20 DVD's floating out there in our reliable US Mail system!!

Give me some good advice!!

If I was the one leaving feedback I would leave positive.. You dont know that she didnt send the first one and she responded quickly to your request.. If she indeed sent the first one than she would have had no reason to contact you as she would have assumed you recvd.. As a seller as a rule I dont leave feedback on anyone until they have left feedback for me.. firstly that is my way of knowing that the buyer has recvd the merchandise.. and also if they do leave me negative feedback I can notate my side of what happened.. If you have already left feedback and then they get the merchandise and have buyers remorse (which happens) then they will come back and leave you negative feedback..

Just a month or so ago I sold an item and about 1 month later I got an email from the buyer asking about the item.. I shipped it immediately after payment as I always do and just assumed she got it.. I never got feedback but that isnt all that uncommon.. some people never leave feedback.. I responded to her that I had sent it.. I scanned the usps receipt that has the date and her zip code and emailed that to her.. I asked her to please wait until that next Friday and if she didnt have it to let me know and I would be happy to refund her payment.. as I didnt have another one I could send her.. But yes it is possible for this seller to have more than 1 of an item.. so maybe she is legit in offering that.. again I would leave a positive but would note that you didnt recv the item and buyer resent another one or something to that nature..
