I'm planning to be married during the summer...kinda have to because I am a teacher.

Now I know about those FL summer months. Unfortunately, I am a sweater (not the article of clothing). I wanted to know what you ladies use to keep cool, fresh, and smelling like a basket of roses  !

There is an over the counter antiperspirant that will literally keep your armpits from sweating....my dermatologist recommended it to me. It is called Certain Dri. However, I would use it for a few weeks before the wedding to make sure you aren't irritated by it. Also, Lady Mitchum works great for me.

I would use the certain dri. I would also recommend getting an under arm wax and doing it a few days before the wedding because since it is so strong it can irritate skin... mine gets a little irritated by it but I don't use it frequently because of that.

there's a new "extra-strength" deodorant that i think is made by Secret. i saw it at target for around $7 or $8, so it costs more than a typical deodorant but is supposed to be like prescription strong. if you're really worried about excess perspiration, ask your doctor or dermatologist...they might have some other suggestions. i too am a "sweater" and definitely don't want to be worrying about it on my wedding day!

This was my mom's first complaint with our August wedding date, I'd also like to know how to keep makeup fresh. Also, should a ton of hairspray keep my hair from going crazy in the humidity?

If you have your makeup done by like Anna or Lisa then they will spray your face with a fixative spray after they finish your makeup and that stuff will not BUDGE for the entire day.

MAC makeup has a spray fixative that I believe is the one the makeup artists use. It is also a refresher. I just bought it but haven't tried it since we haven't had the hot weather yet. It was about $16 but I am willing to try anything since I melt in the summer too!

certain dri works wonders if you use it properly. Don't shave before use, use it on dry clean underarms before bedtime. In the morning use your reg deodarant. I would also suggest using it for a few weeks in advance nightly!

I read an article just this weekend about excessive sweating....cause thats me...& not just under the arms...all over...YUCK!!!!

Im gonna try that Secret stuff, but they also said in the article that if you can afford it & deal with the pain, Botox injected under your arms stops sweating there...not for me, but someone might be interested

for now, i just put on the deodarant.....ive swiped it under the girls & that helped:thumbsup2

:rotfl: :rotfl: I've done that before too!!!

OP: I'm so glad you asked this because I'm in the same boat (I'm a teacher too!) I'm soooo worried about July in Florida! I sent for the free sample of the new Secret stuff. I had seen the commercial and wanted to try it. Thanks, Alesia, for the link :)

i got married in arizona in the middle of september, it was about 110 degrees out so what i did, was wear plenty of deoderant, and i would try to stay indoors as much as possible then when i would go outside to take pictures and stuff my mom and my bridesmaids would have those little electric fans on hand to help me cool off.

Sweating excessively (either from your underarms, feet, hands, etc.) is a condition called hyperhidrosis (pretty useless information, sure, but maybe someday will come in handy during Jeopardy; lol!). The deoderant that was suggested in earlier posts is probably the non-prescription equivalent of Drysol. Very useful stuff (until your body gets accustomed to it and stops working, like me).

Anywho, one non-deoderant piece of advice I have for you is this: schedule a block of time every day to go back to your hotel room and reboot. Take a nap, a shower, change your clothes, whatever. We just got back from our honeymoon--it isn't even summer yet, mind you--and the first full day we were there I got a touch of sun stroke or heat stroke or *something* that made me sick to my stomach and feel dehydrated. And I'm a native Floridian! I can't imagine how out-of-state folks handle it! After that first awful day, we came back to the hotel every day around 2 or 3 and de-stressed, then were able to enjoy the rest of the day.

Good luck! And drink lots of water! (We bought some from Walgreens and stored it in our hotel fridge, since Disney only sells Dasani, which I am NOT a fan of.)

Purplegirl247...glad to see you are back. Love the picture in your siggie. When will we see more pics and read your thread ?? Can't wait ! :cool1:

I would LOVE to post a trip report (and am practically frothing at the mouth to do so!) but I don't have hardly any pictures back yet! Just the photopass ones and the ones my dad took. I have to wait two to three weeks until I get the formal ones back (Randy's, the honeymoon shoot, and the MK photo shoot).

But now I get to sit back, relax, and drop in to answer other people's questions. Like the wise old married lady that I am! :rotfl2:
