I am new to Dis and was so excited about all the T-shirt designs, they are all so beautiful and every one is so generous with their talents.
I got a bunch of designs and went to the local craft store and bought several different transfer sheets.
The first one was made by avery and stressed not to forget to pick the mirror image of the design when printing.
No problem.
The big problem was I contiued to do that very thing with two other different types of transfer paper without reading their instructions.
You guessed it. I wasted $40.00 in transfer paper by being too excited and not reading the instructions.
The other pakages did not require mirror imaging the picture:sad1:
So if I can stop one other person from making that same mistake all will not be lost.
Read your directions carefully!!
I was frustrated but still had fun redoing them all, after all, planning a Disney vacation is part of the whole experience, isn't it?

Isn't that the truth?! Sorry about your bad experience but I'm glad you have it all figured out now!!!! I just LOVE planning!!!!! ;)

Well, you could put them on the back of shirts.:lmao: That way they would look like you did it on purpose.

Generally, light transfer paper gets reversed. Dark transfer paper does not. But, yes, read directions carefully.

The first one I did, I used light transfer paper on a colored shirt. The design faded right into the shirt. My daughter still wears it, but it list most of its effect.

According to my DH that by the time I am done wasting the paper (I end up wasting at least 5 -10 sheets each trip by doing something stupid, Messing up the t shirt by placing the design in the wrong place or putting the design up side down :lmao: I could have bought ready made tshirts for 1/2 of what it actually costs me. Plus I wouldn't be attacking the computer on a weekly basis. But I calmly explain that I may not be saving any money, but I am having lots of fun. :rolleyes1

You have me nervous now. I ran my one transfer and I mirrored it and it's on dark transfer paper. I needed the name to come out the right way. I haven't ironed it on the shirt yet, but as far as I can see it looks like it will iron on the proper way...sorry you lost several prints that way. I only did one and now I am nervous to try it again.

Read your directions again. I think for dark transfers you lay them right side up on the t shirt and then iron. :) Please check directions careull or check on al old shirt. Penny

Yes, I made the mistake again!!!! I think I am too old for this fancy stuff....here I am thinking I am doing great things and oh, no I am not...I better leave this until I am in a better frame of mind...

Penny, you were right!
The dark transfer paper does not require you to flip the image where as the light on does.
Live and learn!
Thanks for the info!:thumbsup2

Been there, done that and have more than 1 tshirt to prove it. :lmao: my best was when i put it on upside down and backwards. LOL
