Don't like Hungry Bear's sweet potato fries?

Well, they are still there. Nobody in our family likes the sweet potato fries, and we all wish they would offer regular fries too. When DH and I order sandwiches there, we get onion rings. DS10 and DS12 though don't like the sweet potato fries, onion rings, or cole slaw, but they want to eat too, so it's always an annoyance. I found out this trip that you can order your sandwich a la carte at Hungry Bear. It only shaves $2 off the price, but at least we're not paying for food that won't get eaten. The boys can get a cheeseburger or chicken sandwich sans side for $2 less, and then we can pick them up some other snack or treat after we leave the Hungry Bear. Just thought I'd share for those who find this a helpful option.

i hate how many places dont have normal frys now. they should offer both. I for one dont like yams only a bit at thanksgiving time but give me frys any time

So I have to say, I totally HATE sweet potatoes and anything made out of them. BUT, I ended up really enjoying the ones at Hungry Bear? Not sure why. Too bad you can't taste test!

LOL, yes, a taste test would be nice. We have in fact ordered the sweet potato fries at Hungry Bear before, and no one in our family liked them. I have tried sweet potato fries in three other non-Disney restaurants and not enjoyed them, so I guess they're not my thing. DH and I actually like the onion rings at Hungry Bear and have no trouble ordering those, but my picky sons don't like any of the sides offered. It was nice to learn that a la carte is an option.

My family likes the sweet potato over regular fries. The onion rings are awesome at HB. A good alternative if you don't like the sp fries.

I love sweet potato fries, but my girls aren't big fans so we eat where we can get a cheeseburger and regular fries. Like the Village Haus, or Taste Pilots in DCA. I do wonder tho, I bet if you got fries someplace like the Golden Horseshoe you could take them to the Hungry Bear and eat them with your burger there.

Yeah for sure! I wish they'd do sweet potato fries (if they must) and regular fries. I like onion rings and if I didn't like the sweet potato fries I'd get those but both of those things aren't 'picky eater' friendly!

Our family prefers the sp fries over the "normal", I love fries, but stopped eating all white potatoes, they convert to instant sugar.

I love all potatoes but generally don't like french fries... on the other hand I loooove sweet potato fries! There isn't as much fried part and places tend to go easier on the salt too.

My DD is allergic to sweet potatoes, so we avoid the Hungry Bear for fear that even the chicken tenders might have been cross-contaminated. I'm so glad they have menus posted online so we know where to avoid in advance.

I like that they have the option, but I wish they'd add another to the Hungry Bear. It used to be one of my favorite places to eat lunch, but we don't go there now since most of my family hates sweet potatoes.

I miss the turkey club on focaccia.

I'm not a huge sp fry fan, I'd rather that they served regular as well. But the onion rings are great! It's a tough call, because I think the sandwiches at HB are some of the best in either park! So eating somewhere else with regular fries is sometimes just not worth it.
One trick I've found is if I dunk the sp fries in "fry sauce" (it's a Utah thing, ketchup and mayo mixed), they don't taste much different

I'm not a big fan of the SP fries, but I LOVE their slaw. I'm really surprised more people don't get it (I guess because they aren't sure what it is) but I think it's fantastic with their food and love it in the summer as it's a nice cool alternative.

Glad to hear about ala carte at HB. Count me as not liking SP fries either. I wish they would just sub a small bag of potato chips, that would work for me.

Probably even better for me to skip all the sides, lol/
