Don't leave valuables unattended

HEY! I copied this off of Facebook verbatim, it's not my equipment, I haven't been to WDW in 20+ years. The person who lost it has his name under the picture, and I posted it to remind people not to leave things unattended. Also, if you see this equipment, this will help you find the rightful owner.

Since none of my friends are going to WDW anytime soon and they only people who might be able to help this man would be there, I figured I would post it here instead of on Facebook.

Thank you for going back and editing. It was not obvious from your original post that you were not the facebook poster.

Reading the facebook post, it sounds like this wasn't an unattended bag. I know the benches they are talking about (smokers section). It's pretty dark in that corner late at night. Really sucks someone would do that. I treat disney like it's the nyc subway, you hold onto your bags in a way nobody can touch them without you knowing. We've all seen the "magicians" on tv where they take someones watch and necktie while talknig to them, I don't trust any bag where someone can walk up behind me and open it on my back.

Also as PP mentioned. We have several memory cards, rotate them out during the day, store them in a different bag and also download the images to a laptop (and sometimes send them up to a site/"cloud" service just in case that laptop is lost on the travels). It can be handy.

This is a good time to make sure that you have your belongings on your homeowners/rental insurance (if you can) and have all the serial numbers off of your equipment. Granted these 2 electronics can be fairly popular, it's hard to trace anything, but he could send an email to eBay with the serial numbers off of both items (as well as any other gizmo's, lenses, attachments) that could make this stick out when being resold online.

Also, again, just to go along with the PSA... DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING TO CHANCE. KEEP YOUR BAGS ZIPPED SHUT AND IN A PLACE YOU CAN SEE IT.

Yeah, someone stole my backpack last time I went to Disney and it really stings. I still wince every time I think of all the princess signatures we lost in our encyclopedias, even to the extent that I won't publish any pictures with the signature books in them. I don't want my granddaughter to ask about her book and I have to tell her that some bad person took it. (as well as her doll, her items she got from the Wonderland Tea Party and the flowers she so proudly presented us with). I called every day for a month just to see if someone laid the items down or discarded them even if they kept the backpack; no such luck. I have been to WDW over 50 times and this was the first time anything was ever taken from me.
