I would agree about the pool if they just returned. It's really hard to swim with all that construction going on.

I was thinking the same thing. They must have been to the wrong Fort as there currently is no pool at the Fort...

This is the resort I always tell friends with young children to stay. This was the only resort I stayed at until my children became teenagers. We must have stayed in the cabins 20 times. The activities and safety (no cars allowed to drive around) were top on my list with young children. There is so much for children to do and taking them to the petting zoo (Is there still a petting zoo?)is a great excuse to get them and you out of the parks when everyone is tired and really needs a nap. (especially the adults).

Check out my signature at the bottom of this post. As you can see I have spent HUNDREDS of nights at the fort. It is our absolute favorite place to visit. In fact....we BOUGHT our motorhome after staying the cabins (several years back.) We loved Fort Wilderness sooooooooo much we wanted to make it our second home. THINK ABOUT IT....I spent more than 50k on a motorhome just so we can go there often! That says a lot!!! You know...I took my kids snow skiing last month to Mont Tremblant Canada and to Colorado last year. It was beautiful......but we decided we like the Fort better! It is much more cost effective, laid back, less stressful, a lot of fun and equally as beautiful!

sorry for the caps, i know us folks up here in ole virginnie might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but weez stll geet around once in a while, iz figures yall beez the experts . i be com found youz know all sortz of questions be axed on the forum so iz figured i ax this one, i gotz me a new to me house trailer, it iz a fleetwood prowler 25 j, and az iz wuz puttin on that ole mickey mouze i-4 florida sign on d back , thats when they mentioned the fort. yall are the experts , figured i ask, sorry if i ticked some off, have all intentions on going to the fort, hopefully many times. i did ask them why they would say , that was their responce, well i better get maw back out to churn the butter

I think you'll like The Fort, give it a try and if you don't like it, you can switch over to another campground or resort! Either way, it's Disney so you're bound to have a good time!

Wow- I am shocked... we havent officially stayed at the Fort yet, but I went for a visit this past weekend to check things out... It was amazing! Everyone was beyond helpful, the kids loved the horses and the sites all looked really nice... there were alot of areas that were under construction- but I took that as a sign of better things to come- fingers crossed. The comfort stations were the nicest I've ever seen in any camping facility and the kids loved playing at the playground and the beach- in fact they gave me a hard time about going over to MK after we were there- they just wanted to hang out at the Fort and play! I personally cant wait to get there! Not sure what your "friends" saw or were thinking, but I guess to each his own- thats why there is more than one flavor ice cream- right?

I will tell you the real problem....

Tigger0624 was there on the weekend....AND FORGOT TO TAKE PICS OF THE POOL FOR US ALL TO SEE!!!!
