Sometimes its difficult to know when people are joking in a post. I'm hoping that this was intended as humor. I'm sure that the DIS podcast team is not trying to place a price on meeting them.

I agree, its VERY hard to read a post on the net in the correct context it was written.

But, No, you've read it toally incorrect - its nothing to do with money (well, apart from me not paying $4k+ for a cruise, but thats me and nothing to do with anyone else)

I meant that if the team dont want to spend out on a free party like the last one at TSM, then i'd be happy to pay to attend (and i'm sure quite a few others will as we all understand you cant keep paying out for others to enjoy themselves - its not good business sense), instead of only having the opportunity to meet during a expensive trip like a cruise, as some people just wont have the money to go on a trip like that (or want to in my case as cruising doesnt appeal to me).

December 2008 - DU rented Toy Story Mania for the evening after DHS closed. It coincided with the last Mousefest (which the podcast crew attended). The only condition for attending the TSM event was a DHS ticket and advance signup.

December 2009, DU did DisaPalooza - which included Toy Story Mania. They also did a live podcast taping.

I didn't get to go to the 2009 one (so I'm sure I've forgotten something about it) but the 2008 TSM was a fantastic way to meet the podcast crew.

Just imagine being able to ride TSM without having to stand in line or without, as the evening wore on, having to get out of the ride vehicle.

Now, what DU has in mind for 2011 may be different but given their track record, it will be fantastic.

2009 was a blast and a half. I rode TSM maybe 8 times. The top score of the night won a cruise. The day before the event we attended a "talk" given by Lee Cockrell followed by Marty Sklar.

Of course, that's not difficult since Val & I always plan a WDW trip in early December. That time of year is special for us since December 8th is the anniversary of when we first met at WDW.

Ok, I know plans are set yet....I don't expect them to be, but it does sound like DU has an idea of what they want to offer for upcoming events. I haven't listened to any podcasts since the first one in Sept, (I'm saving them up for my 12+ hour drive down to WDW for PCC2.0) so I can't (don't want to) reference them, but it sounds like DU is NOT planning on a PCC cruise for 2011, but are thinking of at least one cruise in June 2012, and possibly Dec 2012, and it sounds like they are thinking of having something akin to Disaplooza 2009 in Dec 2011. Does this sound right? Would help with planning and budgeting to at least have an idea. Thanks for any info...and thanks to the DU staff for all the hard work you guys do to offer us a bit of Disney/DU Magic.

I think it's safe to assume we will be SOMETHING every year from this point forward. We are going to try to switch off between a cruise(s) one year and an event the other year.

December 2010 - Podcast Cruise 2.0
December 2011 - event at WDW
June 24, 2012 - Podcast Cruise 3.0
December 2012 - Podcast Cruise 4.0 (no date set)

Now before the posts start about how it's not fair that we only do WDW and not DL - we are coming to DL next year (2011) for 3 ABD Backstage Magic Tours and we will definately try to schedule some time to meet the folks on the West Coast while we are there. No details yet of course.

We attended the TSM Disapalooza in 2009 and it was nothing less than amazing!! I'm in for 2011 for sure! We paid $25 per ticket in 2009 but it was worth so much more.....

The December 2009 Disapaloosa party at Toy Story Mania was totally awesome !!!!

I so much hope that The DIS has a gathering on Saturday December 3rd.

This way I will be still covered on my annual pass, and I will most likely be on vacation at that time !!

I know that the podcast team doesn't want to give away any details too soon, but I hope we will have a DATE early enough, so that we can choose our vacation dates with this in mind.

Oh ..... I hope it can be Dec 3rd !!
