Don't joke around airport security!!

Wow, really something.
I can think of an incident in our airport recently where a passenger made a joke going through security. He was arrested, but was later allowed to board a later flight.

I learned a LONG time ago -- years before 9/11 -- not to make jokes while going through security. In Chicago there are signs posted warning people not to make jokes about bombs, etc. But then it was in Chicago that a man made it through security with a half-dozen knives and other forbidden items in his carry-on bag. In my travels, I've found Chicago O'Hare to have the most LAX security.

I know someone that made a joke about 2 Middle Eastern men giving him something before boarding (this was about a year before 9/11). Well they detained him in front of his children and he is banned from flying Delta ever again.

Serves him right! What kind of moron makes jokes about bombs anyway?? ESPECIALLY after the horror of 9/11.

I wish Philly International Airport was as "on top of things" as that airport seems to be!

I've been teaching US History for 8 years, and have often used "saying bomb in an airport" as a modern-day example of the "clear and present danger" rule set by the Supreme Court in 1919. People should really know better... idiots.
