I have talked my husband into taking a detour on our way home from a trip we are planning to Italy in early May to spend 2-3 nights in France to go to Disney and spend 1 day in Paris. Is there a big enough benefit staying onsite to justify the higher price versus finding an offsite hotel? I think the plan will just be spending 1 day at each park. Is that too ambitious? I have no idea where to even start planning. Are their touring guides like what you can find for the US parks?

If you stay onsite, the price you see online will include park tickets for both parks for the duration of your stay, eg if you book a 2 night stay you'll get entry to the parks for 3 days. Also, check out the different country pages on disneylandparis webpage as the prices will vary a lot.

There isn't much need for touring guides - the parks are quite easy to navigate, and also right next to each other so you can park hop easily. The onsite hotels are also within walking distance of the parks, so very easy to get around.

www.dlpguide.com is a great website for research, park maps and other info :thumbsup2

I've never stayed onsite---never stayed at all in fact, only daytrips from Paris, so I wouldn't know about that. I agree with everything Ms. Poppins said, no need for touring guides and I would definitely recommend the site she gave. It's a great jumping off point for planning. If you need any other help lmk or post a thread; everyone here is happy to help! :)

We haven't been yet, but I found that we could get a room at Hotel l'Elysee Val d'Europe plus plan to purchase annual passes at the park (about the same as a 3 day pass) for less than staying on-site. It doesn't include breakfast, but the hotel is apparently right across from a shopping center with plenty of cafes and a supermarket, so hopefully we can pick something up.

By staying right near an RER stop, we're planning to do 3 days in DLP and 3 days in Paris - with the option of hitting the parks in the evenings if we want to (with APs). We thought about a split stay, but hotels in Paris were more, and if we pick up the right Paris Visite pass, transportation should be taken care of. In fact, so far our DLP 6 night trip is costing less than driving to NYC for the same time would cost us - and that's with park tickets, entry to the places we want to go, and flights to Paris from the US! :rotfl:

Hmm. I wonder if I can convincce DH we'll need to use those APs again before they expire... :rotfl:
