Don't believe your activity statement

I have been checking my point activity online at least once a month, and today I discovered several errors on the point activity statement. It had incorrect dates and point totals taken out for a reservation that occurs next month. I made a reservation for friends back in November, and had to change the reservation twice due to changes in their dates. When I checked today, it showed an incorrect point total on my activity statement for their trip. Upon a closer look, I discovered that the dates were still the original dates, and not the amended ones. However, when I looked on the vacation activity portion of the account, it showed the vacation dates correctly and also the correct point totals for that stay.

I called MS to make sure there wasn't an error in the reservation. She assured me that it was all intact for correct dates. Neither of us could account for why the activity statement was wrong though. Add that to the fact that my GV stay from last month is still showing (0 points used), and I'm beginning to have a pit in my stomach! I think I'm going to be checking this daily for awhile just to make sure it's correct! I'm beginning to think MS computers and the accounting we get online are totally bogus! It used to be instantaneous if you made a reservation you could watch your point totals change on line while you were on the phone. Now you have no clue!:headache:
 
Thanks for the heads up. I also usually check ours monthly and its now messed up also. The final point total is correct but dates are off and like yours my daughters completed trip in Jan/Feb shows 0 pts used. And to think some people are looking forward to online ressies.

My trip from end Jan shows at 0 as well, but I thought maybe it was because I borrowed from this year (UY is Feb). :confused3
 
Never had any problem with activity on website..in fact, I have seen the reservation/points updated in a matter of hours after making reservations....I usually check at least onc a month...I must admit that I rarely make any changes to my original reservations and perhaps that has been a factor in always having accuracy in my vacation activity, points used and points remaining.

I had started a thread awhile back on the '0' points used thing..but was hopeful the acutal points used wasn't messed up..I guess I need to try a keep better track for myself...
 
Yes, my points used for my Jan. stay says 0 also, but the dates and points are correct on my activities statement, go figure.
 
The initial computer update occured on December 1st. We were starting a trip that day, and those points show correctly, however our January trip in the GV is the one with "zero points used". I'm thinking this computer update is what has caused these to "glitch", but it certainly doesn't make me feel very confident about the accuracy of things at DVC where our points are concerned.

The strange thing is that the points showed up correctly BEFORE the trip, but ended up reading as "0" after the trip.:confused3
 
We own several contracts which makes tracking everything a bigger challenge. During the last couple of years we have had numerous issues with our account. Incorrect points applied to a reservation, points disappear and reappear in our account. Hours on the phone working with different levels of management to fix our balance. At one point a manager saw a 100 point change from one day to the next, without a accounting record being recorded.

The only explanation that we got is that the software wasn't designed for so many points in one account. :scared1:

I now use software and spreadsheets to track each and every change. Totals and reservations are verified once a month and I keep calling back to get an Advisor with experience.

Yes, she told me that too, but I only have 3 contracts and they are all direct buy,so all have the same base contract number. I don't think 449 points in 3 contracts should be that big a deal. What about all those who own 1000 or more points?:scared1:

Maybe they should work that out before they talk to us about "tiered benefits" for higher point owners! :rotfl2:

Yes, the more "rules" they make, the worse their IT issues will become.
 
I changed a reservation yesterday and hit refresh on the member site and it showed up...

ok... just checked my vacation history and while my point balances are correct, several vacations now show using 0 points...

But my totals for points remaining are correct... And in between the above trips were trips where it shows point balances, but to be honest I am not sure if they are the correct ones, and never noticed any of this, because my point balances have always been correct...

Edited to add... we have 4 contracts 2 use years
 
I just called yesterday to make a May reservation.....and found out that 6 points have vanished from our account....we had a problem in March of 2010 with MS borrowing 12 instead of 6 points for a reservation..took a few weeks to correct....now it looks like that correction was somehow deleted from our account....since when I looked last week the points were correct:confused3...spend quite a while on the phone with them and no one can tell me when or how the 6 points were removed....they are sending me statements to look over and see if I can "help" them find the error.....:confused:...I'll keep you posted
 
ARGH! I think they should make it a requirement that the only IT people allowed to work on the DVC computers should be those who own at least 1000 points! Maybe then they'd get it right!
