Don't Be Afraid of the Dark remake

It was YEARS before I could even open my eyes and see what these little guys actually looked like! :scared1: Gotta see the re-make for sure! LOL!

I don't even know what Don't Be Afraid of the Dark is. I opened the thread though hoping you had mistyped Are You Afraid of the Dark? and I was super excited! Oh well. :sad1::goodvibes

Was that the movie with the little tribal doll that came to life?? That scared the beejezus out of me. Notice I didn't look at the trailer??

No it is not that one but that was a scary one too:scared1: The Tribal Doll one was in a movie called Trilogy of Terror and I think it was 3 mini movies in one movie.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark was about a woman and her husband moving into an old family home she inherited and there were demons there trying to get her:scared1:

I loved when mom and dad would let me stay up and watch the scary movies but for some reason the Don't Be Afraid of the Dark really scared me. The demons freaked me out. If the original movie would have had the little girl in it like the remake I probably would have sworn off scary movies for good - LOL

The original is on my top list of scariest movies too.

I like this trailer, but I think it will be the type of movie that will be scary and good in it's own right, but not if you try to compare to the old (as is the case in most remakes)....like trying to compare Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp as Wonka

It is definately on my most scary list, that is one movie I have never forgot :scared1:

I do plan on seeing the remake without trying to compare too much - to me it seems like the remake will be a bit scarier because Sally is now a young girl. I would have really freaked out if Sally had been a young girl in the original - LOL

Add me to the list of kids who were scared and scarred by that movie! :scared1: I doubt that the remake could affect me as much.

The one with the tribal doll was awful too. No wonder I was such a jumpy child! I loved those made for TV horror movies, then during the night I was really frightened by every little noise and shadow, but I couldn't tell my mom because then she wouldn't let me watch anymore of those shows...this made for some very long, exciting nights! :scared1:

Funny that you all mentioned Trilogy of Terror as well. The doll scared me to pieces! We got that movie from Nextflix a few years ago and my husband and son were ROFL that I thought it was so scary.

After watching Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, my brothers would hide behind walls whispering, "Dianna...we want you Dianna. We're coming to get you." I'd cry and then my mom would yell at them. :lmao:

remember in the original how 'they' were tugging at her dinner napkin when she had a dinner party and remember when they tied her up and dragged her into the fireplace kim darby was the women in the movie

When I was young it seemed like it was on TV almost every weekend:scared1: Those little guys with thier little olive pit heads, and the way they talked really gave me the creeps:scared1: I stayed far away from our fireplace:lmao:
