Hi all.....
My name is Donna and I'm 32 years old and the mother of 2 boys, 12 years and 4 years. I'm 5'4 and as of now I weigh around 198 pounds. I started WW on March 12th and have lost a little over 15 pounds since then. So at the time of starting WW I weighed 215.
But, the important thing is I'm doing something about it.
I was the type of person who did as little exercise or physical activity as possible. I drank nothing but pop (Dr Pepper was my weakness) and wouldn't dream of touching water, unless it was in iced tea that was sweetened with as much sugar as possible. Once I started WW, it was all or nothing for me. I gave up pop, which wasn't as hard to do as I thought. I drink around 90oz of water daily and now I exercise around 65 minutes 6 times a week. I knew that if I didn't change my ways I would keep gaining and gaining and that just wasn't an option for me anymore.
I've always had some issues with my weight but this is the most I've ever weighed. Ok, actually the 215 was the most I'd ever weighed but now that I've started WW I'm close to the weight I was when I had my youngest son. That's really showing me that things are moving in the right direction. I guess there are a few reasons why my weight went as high as it did, other than I just couldn't keep from eating too much. My mom, who was my best friend, passed away almost 4 years ago. I know I put on some weight during her brief illness and some more after she passed away. I was also diagnosed with endometriosis and had to take a shot for 6 months for it. That caused a little more weight gain. Then in March of last year I had a hysterectomy and I packed on a little more weight. All of that combined with terrible eating habits (I was the Queen of Fast Food), my weight hit an all time high.
With all of that being said, I am 100% commited to WW and have found it easier than I ever thought it would be. My husband is great, very supportive so that and going to the meetings have really given me the boost I needed to get going on this journey.
I hope to post in my journal each day, share what I have eaten and hopefully post some before and after pictures. I avoid a camera at all costs so it might be hard to dig up a picture of myself but I'll try.
WISHing everyone success in this journey
