Just read some horrible reviews on this. Should we just stick with our usual Chef mickey's or try this for something new?

hi
i'd like to hear some reviews on this,i have also read some bad ones and had decided not to go but my 2 ds's are wanting to eat here:rolleyes: we are only going to do 1 or 2 character meals and so don't want to waste money on this one if it's not really good:D
i know a lot of peoples taste differ but i would love to hear from anyone

sorry lenshanem if i seem to have rushed in on your thread, lets hope there are more good than bad reports

eve:D

we have always enjoyed donald's. we are returning in may w/a couple who have never experienced it! every restaurant is gonna have good and bad days. good luck!

Donald's is must do for us. The food is very good and the character interaction great. The CM's are really good too. The one and only complaint I have is the tables are small.

We love Donalds--ate there this past week. The food, characters, and general atmosphere are a LOT better than Ched Mickey's IMHO. And the servers at Donalds are characters int ehri own right.

This is the only character breakfast we've ever done. I can't compare it to others. However, we really had a great time. It was a buffet style breadfast. It had all the standard breakfast things. (pancakes, sausage, bacon, eggs, cereal, muffins, danish, fruit, etc...) My boys ate more here than any other meal we had at Disney. I don't know if they have a standard plan. However, it seemed like the characters were rotating around the restaurant. That is, we were greeted at the door by Goofy. When we sat down, it wasn't long before Donald arrived at our table. We would eat a little and then Mickey would appear. You get the idea. I hope this helps.

Thanks. I read two reviews that is was very, very rushed. We have a tradition of going to Chef Mickey's on the morning we leave, but this trip i was trying to plan some new things cause my oldest is having a little WDW burnout (If you could imagine! )

My oldest also has severe food allergies and Chef Mickey's has always been very accommodating. But, these opinions sound pretty good.

Maybe we'll go for it and try something new!

I saw it ends at 10:00. That seems early! If we take the last seating i wonder if we'll still get a full buffet to choose from and see all the characters?

we always do the last seating at 10. The only food problem was the 2st trip they ran out of hot fruit toppings for the pancakes. Everything else was plentiful and fresh.

Thanks sha_lyn.

We'll try for 10 then. Did you ever feel like they wanted you to hurry out since they were closing up? Still saw all characters?

This is something we are trying for the first time this May. I've read good and bad reviews....I guess we'll just have to see for ourselves (and I can't wait!!!!)!

Shan -- I feel like I'm stalking you on the threads today! We're interested in the same topics today!!! LOL

hi:wave:
thank you
glad to see there are people out there that enjoy this place:D

We have gone a lot of character meals and donald's in our favorite breakfast of all. We like a 8:10 Ps on a non EE morning. WE have found the food hot, fresh and a great variety. The service is alwsome and the character interaction was great too. We like it a lot better than CM. For us it ranks second only to LTT and that is a dinner only experence.
Give it a try.

Another vote in favor of Donald's!!! We got a late seating in August and it was wonderful. The food was plentiful and hot. We didn't feel rushed in the least. The characters took awhile to get around but they did stop at every table. We would definatly do this one again.

I haven't felt rushed and have had good character interaction. I do seem to remember asking about one character the time. Seems like we arrived in the room just as they were leaving, and it took a long time for htem to get back. I think when we did ask, the character came from the back.

We ate here for the first time on our last trip, and we enjoyed ourselves. The only complaint we had is that they kept running out of things. I went to the buffet twice, and the more popular items were constantly gone. It was a busy day though, and I could have just missed it twice.

This was one of our "must do" things for my extravagant birthday trip (2/2/04). Our server was again Neil, who was in good form although he neglected to have me seranaded by the servers for my birthday. I really like the buffet here, and DH and I often debate about this one compared to Crystal Palace. Character interaction is wonderful. DH's name is Donald, I make...or strongly suggest...he wear a Donald shirt, and Donald always loves that! The characters came around at least 3 times on our last visit. We had a 10:00 PS (had to ride RnR and TOT over at MGM first--it was a limited trip for time) and this worked out very well for us.

Who are some of the characters you have seen?

I'm thinking of taking my nephew here for a late breakfast when we go in July. He's a "new" teenager and I don't know how characters are going to fit into our trip.

TIA,

this breakfast features donald

I think mickey and goofy are there as well

This will be our 4th trip to Donalds. We love it. The characters are Mickey, Goofy, Pluto and of course Donald. Can't wait to see what they have in store for us this trip! They always seem to single out my SIL. We always come away laughing and we still talk about the ketcup 3 years later! Hope this helps!
