Donald's Breakfastosaurus at AK

We really enjoyed it! I really like the theming and the character interaction is great! We enjoyed the food, everything was great. This is a nice way to start off your day at AK. :)

Pictures? Is this included or additional cost? Is it with a character? Also :teeth: We have a 8 am. seating on Easter Sunday, the park opens at 8. I am wondering now, if this the most desired seating? TIA!!!!!!!!!!!

For our day at AK I figured we would do the character breakfast at Donald's Breakfastosaurus. Just wondering for those who ate there what you thought about it? How were the characters? Thanks for any info!
I know some people disagree, but we've enjoyed this character breakfast each and every time we've done it. They are great about getting each character to your table for autographs and pictures and the CMs are a lot of fun. The theming is really cool and the food has always been great.

What is a good time to schedule my ADR if we want to be at the 9:00 rope drop?

THANKS!

First one available at 8 or 8:05. We do this all the time and it's GREAT!!

:thumbsup2 We also loved donald's. We've always enjoyed the food, especially the variety. Good character interaction - we love Donald!
We're returning there in April - can't wait!! :cheer2:

Oh good, I'm scheduled at 8:00. By the way, I'm from Iowa, too.

They take a picture outside the restaurant that is in front of a sign, not with a character. It is not included in the price of the breakfast. If you have a photo pass card they can scan that and you can order that picture that way as well.

Isn't it a pain to get to WDW from Iowa?
You'll love Donald's and having an 8:00 we always are waiting for Dino right when they open. Last year we were "the first family" and we rode by ourselves and the pictures from the ride were free. It was cool!

We may head over to Everest this year, but after that breakfast...we aren't sure yet!

Wow!

We currently have an ADR here for our trip in June, but I was planning on canceling it if the rumored Toy Story breakfast became a reality. But ya'll are making Donald's Breakfastasauras sound so good that I want to keep it regardless of whether or not there's a Toy Story meal! :teeth:

One quick question:

Our DS is currently in love w/ dinosaurs, which is 1 reason I chose this restaurant - the themeing. (I've currently got 2 princess meals scheduled for our DD, so I really wanted something just for DS as well.)

When you're eating in the restaurant, do you really notice the "theme" or is it more of a backdrop kind of thing? Are there interesting dinosaur things to look at?

Thanks!! :)

Airfare was the hardest part to get booked! :rotfl2: We finally decided on Allegiant to get a non-stop flight.

Back to the original thread.....

My son just told me out of the blue a few days ago that Donald was his favorite character so I promptly booked this breakfast. Sounds like it will be great! Animal Kingdom is our favorite park so I'm really looking forward to it.

Us too! You must be close to CR?

DS loves Donald and this is his favorite breakfast. He'll be 15 this summer. I'm proud to have made him a Disney Freak. It may be genetic. We all love this breakfast.

I had to ask DS. That's sort of sad isn't it!!
DS said that there are bones on the wall, fake dino heads and how a Dino transforms into Donald. I guess I should stop and smell the dinosaur eggs when I am here in June. DS loves this place. It's his number one place to go and he loves the chocolate chip pancakes and "the bacon is the best in Walt Disney World."

I'd keep and do the Toy Story too. Rumor is that it's suppose to be lunch anyway.

Oh...make sure your breakfast isn't on a EMH morning.
AK is just way too nuts on those days. Make an 8:00 on a non-EMH day and it will be AWESOME!!

DS and DH went twice last trip. Once with DD and I and then once alone. They both really enjoy it.

We are in Newton. Allegiant flys from CR and Des Moines. We are flying out of Des Moines this time.

Thanks, EEyorelover22!! :) It really sounds like a fun meal!

We'll be there for 7 nights w/ the dining plan, & I already have 10 (including this one) ADR's! :teeth: If I add the rumored Toy Story meal, that'll be 11 (4 more than what we have TS credits for)! Maybe I just won't tell DH until we get there! ;) (I told him previously that I would cancel the Donald breakfast if we were able to schedule the Toy Story meal.)

So, on Father's Day (which is when I currently have Donald's scheduled), I'll just say, "Happy Father's Day, Honey! By the way, we still have an ADR this morning at 8:45!"

If I have 2 princess meals for DD (PSB breakfast & CRT lunch), I should have two meals for DS too, right? Toy Story (which he loves) & then Donald's Breakfastasauras! You know, just to be fair! :smooth:

I was thinking the same thing about your two for DD with the princesses.
You know that CRT is now two TS credits, don't you?

Yeah, but, since I booked CRT before we had our reservations (& therefore the dining plan), our debit card has already been charged for CRT. So, we decided to go ahead & leave it as a pre-paid meal & use the TS credits elsewhere. I decided that I'd rather pay OOP for CRT than use 8 TS credits - that's 2 more meals I can have elsewhere.

So, I guess, not counting CRT, I only currently have 9 TS ADR's which is 2 more than our 7 nights, if that makes sense. We'll have 28 TS credits, and we plan on paying OOP for Chef Mickey's breakfast & Donald's Breakfastasauras. If I'm able to schedule a Toy Story meal, that would be 3 more than our 7 nights (not including CRT) - that's not terribly bad, is it?

We currently have ADR's for LTT (dinner), Mama Melrose's (FDP), CP (lunch), Garden Grill (lunch), CRT (lunch), Donald's Breakfastasauras, San Angel Inn (dinner), PSB (breakfast), WCC (dinner), & Chef Mickey's (breakfast).

I am in the minority in this thread. We absolutely hated Donalds. We went the first week of December when the parks were not crowded. We had an 8:00am PS/ADR.

We were not allowed into the parking lot until 8am therefore making us very late for our ADR. The toll booth CM could not have cared less that we had a ressie, the gates did not open until 8am (and this was an EMH morning)

When we finally got to Donalds, the Hostess did arrange to seat us promptly but that was the last thing that went right. The waitress just complained that she had too many tables and should have not been covering for someone. The hot food was either luke warm or ice cold. The chef's did not replenish the buffet with any sort of regularity. The buffet lines were very confusing and people were cutting each other off because of the confusion.

We saw the characters only once and they were very rushed. It was hurry up and take your picture so we can leave.

We have eaten many character breakfasts and we all were extremely disappointed in this one. We will go back to Chef Mickey's of Crystal Palace before ever going back to Donald's.

If you decide to go, then make sure that you the the bus! The toll booth CM's are unbending in the entrance times.
