Where is Donald's breakfast held and how early in the morning can you get reservations? It sounds like a great way to start the day at AK.

it is in AK in Dinoland. the earliest i believe is 8:00. you are greeted at the gate by CMs that will escort a group to the restaurant. this is done on a non-EMH day. we really enjoy this breakfast. it is served buffet style. :earboy2:

we always go to Donalds for a breakfast each visit......it is our favorite .....Our favorite server is NANCY....she is great

Just want to add that for the early breakfast at Donald's you MUST take the Disney breakfast bus. Cars are held back at the entrance and only the Disney buses are allowed through. Many people on the transportation board have noted their frustration about trying to drive to the AK for the early Donald breakfast. Also, do NOT listen to anything a CM might tell you about no early buses. Tyler on the transportation board (Disney bus driver) always tells everyone to only trust the people in purple pants (bus drivers) when it comes to transportation questions. I know from personal experience that he knows what he is talking about.

I assume that means a bus for MK also? Where can you pick up this bus if not stayig in Disney? TTC? How long does that ride take? How early should we be at TTC if so?

Well that does not quite seem fair to exclude those who don't take the bus. What about guests who do not stay on-site? We are staying on-site and we would like to do an early breakfast there one day and we really had planned on driving just because we will have two little ones and it will be so much easier than the bus.

Anyone else have experiences with this?

Things change at Disney all the time but as of November, they let the cars through the gates in plenty of time to park and arrive at an early PS for Donald's because we did it. If I remember correctly, our PS was for 8:15. We arrived at the tolls into AK parking lot at 7:30 and they let us through around 7:45.

What am I to do???
I have an 8am PS for Donalds and am staying off site. Intending spending the whole day in Animal kingdom, To meet my PS time does this mean i will have to park the car at the TTC all day and rely on the bus???
Claire.

I too would like an answer, I am staying onsite but DO NOT want to take the bus as we want to be back in planty of time in the early evening to get ready for our anniversary dinner at the CG. Surely they let people in who have a breakfast reservation for 8am?

I have heard that as long as you have your PS# they will let you in, but I have no first hand experience. And when I made my PS I was told that no busses would be running at that time and that I would need my own transportation. I knew this wasn't true from these boards, so I didn't argue. I keep getting incorrect info from CRO on different issues. THANK GOD for the DIS :flower:

We drove to AK for an 8am PS at Donald's without problem on Sunday, April 3rd. Park opening was 9 am. They did not let us into the parking lot until a few minutes before 8am. We parked, quickly walked to the gates, our PS was confirmed and they let us in. We were directed toward DinoLand for our breakfast.

Breakfast was good. My boys (DS11 and DS7) loved the Krispy Kreme donuts, sausage, and fruit.

One item of note: we were unable to leave Dinoland until after people were let in the front gates. This resulted in a huge crowd getting to the Safari before we could get there.

As crappy as it is, you cannot not normally get into AK's parking lot in time to make the earliest PSs. Here is a thread I posted on the Transportation board: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=774364 I trust Tyler totally, he is so helpful and always full of up-to-date info. You can post your own question there, if you'd like.

I am not 100% about this but it seems that what happens is that other early visitors arrive without PSs and they hog up the entrance lanes therefore no one who has a PS can get in. Clearly the parking attendants do not seem to care about the situation so you will be stuck waiting until they let everyone in whether you have a PS or not. That is my theory why a couple of people have been able to get in early, they were at the front of the line. Am I going to risk it and disappoint my two small boys? No way.

Those of you staying off-site, I am not sure this is the most efficient way of getting there but I would probably pay $7 to valet park at AKL and take the character meal bus from there. Alternately, you can park in the TTC and walk over to the Poly or take the resort monorail to the resort of your choice. I think that might be cutting it very closely though, the resort monorails start running at 7:30, I think.

Good luck! This situation with the character breakfast really bugs the heck out of me. :sad2:

Hiya,
thanks for your advise. I guess i will just have to turn up early and hope for the best. We have no children to disapoint so i guess if we dont make it, it wont be too big a deal, they will just loose my custom! You would have thought they would have sorted this problem out!!
Thanks
Claire

Just called yesterday and the CM told me I needed to drive to AK as there was no transportation available at this time in the morning. I said that I had heard that actually you need to take Disney transportation that cars are not being allowed in by the parking attendents. She said I was mistaken and would need to take a taxi if I didn't have a car with me on site.

When I realized she didn't believe me, I said I would insure I was at the park at the proper time to get into the AK for the breakfast. I feel sorry for all the other people who don't know to read the boards and trust the info being given by the CMs.

Then again do these people know to call close to the 90 days to get the earlier times. Probably not.

I just had someone at work tell me she booked a vacation at WDW for end of June and wanted to eat breakfast in the castle. I explained she'd need to get her PS (or ADR or what it's called now) now as she probably won't be able to get a time.

We were able to drive right up and park in the AK lot Before our early PS time without a problem. There were a bunch of people doing it too.

We love this Character breakfast- it's one of our favorites. It's very organized and well run. They get you in and out without making you feel to rushed.

Try the breakfast pizza.

I need to call in the next few days for the Donald's PS
Got the Crystal Palace today for an early PS in August

Can I tell you. Friends just got back and said the food was awful. I wanted to make this one but now I am not sure. Question, does everyone call right at 90 days or a day or two earlier and see if they'll book it then?

I called right at 90 days and got an 8:00 AM seating, though I've always done it this way, so I don't know what availability is like if you wait.

I have also always driven to my Breakfastosaurus PS, and never been turned away (last time in March).

We went in Dec and had an 8am PS. We drove our car as we had other places to go in the afternoon. We were not let in the gates early and did not make our PS on time. They had no problem with it though and seated up promptly.

This was a great character breakfast. It is perfect for dino crazy kids like my DS. The food was fresh and had quite a bit of variety.

We were 1st in line at Dinosaur so my DS was thrilled. We did have to wait a bit as the ride wasn't quite ready and a CM spent some time with my DS quizzing him on dinos. It was a lot of fun!
