We're considering taking our kids to Punta Cana this summer.

I'm looking for a recommendation for a hotel, all inclusive.

We're considering the Majestic Colonial. It looks nice in pictures, but those who have been there know what's nice and what isn't.

Some information about us: we are vacation snobs. We like luxury, but we also like a good deal. We stayed at PBH at Universal in March. That was right up our alley. We usually stay at BWV when we go to WDW.

So, please let me know what you think about the resorts in the DR... the good, the bad and the ugly.

Bumping for the morning crowd...

My husband and I went to Punta Cana 1/05 without the kids. We had a great time. While we were there we met several other families from the US who were not having a great time. I guess if you are used to luxury, you could be disappointed. I believe all of the resorts are all inclusive.

We stayed at the Caribe Club Princess. We got the VIP package and I would recommend that. I thought the beach was nice, the food was good, our room was large and comfortable. We had no issues. However some other people had issues with everything! While a lot of the staff is multilingual, many only speak spanish. Also Dominican time and American time are not the same. A few minutes really could mean the next day!

We went on this vacation to relax and have a great time. I did not have super high expecations and was pleasantly surprised how great everything was. I think you could have a wonderful trip and I would not hesitate to go back again.
