The information I have is confusing. On the Disney website it says that people have to be 18 years old to do the tour alone, otherwise they have to be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian. On another website it sounded like the person's 16 year old did the tour alone when the parent signed a waiver. I called WDW and "Douglas" didn't really sound like he knew anything about the tour. I asked him about the age and he looked it up and said if she was 13 she could do the tour. I asked him about needing a waiver for kids under 18 and he said yes, I would need to sign a waiver in case of injury, etc. I asked him if a waiver was needed if the parent did the tour too and he said yes and she would need a parent there. :confused3
Has anyone's teenager done the Dolphins in Depth tour at Epcot without their parent going too? I mean the price is quite expensive and then to try to come up with money for another person to go too, just because she isn't 18 yet would make it impossible for her to go.
Do you think that they ask for proof of age? princess:

Guests under 18 do have to be accompanied by a participating adult, and they will ask for ID when your daughter arrives, particularly if she's by herself. If she's one of those 17 year olds who look like they're in their late 20's, she might slide by, but chances are ... they'll ask. They generally ask anyone who looks like they're younger than 30. And if she's there on her own and only 17, not only will she not be allowed to participate, you won't get your money back either.

:earsboy:

I would call again and try to get someone who knows what they are doing. I took the tour in Dec. 2000 (I was 16 at the time) and I had no problems. My mom signed the waiver and I took the tour by myself (My mom and Nana did the Holiday tour but I wanted to play with the dolphins  )

Unless they've changed the policy since 2000, it should be okay!
